Orvos had to get a message to the Athena, and quickly. The shuttle responded to his touch. Perhaps he could use that? He wasn’t sure how far out they were, so the shuttle would have to suffice.

He tossed Ghubari a padd with a downloaded map on it. “This is the base. Get ready to move. I need to let the Athena know they are on their way to a trap and I have no idea if anyone is monitoring this shuttle’s communications. Julien is 3 levels up in a science lab with my Lt. Isabel Delaney. We need to get the shields down as well, but all commands are locked out with a borg algorithm created likely by Commander Rovan Moor. Can either of you find a way to get the shields down? I could provide as a distraction. I send out the message, they know where I am possibly. Then I meet them, do some distract-y bits, and thereby allowing you to move freely and get them down. Can you do that?”

Ghubari started to pour over the systems they had access to. “Nothing so far,” she said after a few moments, “I’ll keep looking”. Luka disappeared briefly and came back with a nasty looking disruptor rifle slung over her shoulder and twin gladius short swords strapped to her hip. “I believe I can provide a distraction if it’s necessary” her smile all teeth.

Orvos looked up quickly at the Laleri. To be honest, he wanted to be in that room, all on eyes on him and off of Delaney in whatever state she was in. But perhaps if he sent Ghubari and Luka instead, he would be much better qualified to handle the shields and then join the fray. An idea come to mind.

“Actually, yes, do that. Ghubari Koraia, go with her. I’m the most qualified to handle the shields. I’ll join you as soon as I can. My drone will be nearby in case you need me for whatever reason. I’ll hear everything and I interact as needed while you’re in there. Sounds good?”

“On it”, Ghubari replied and as she and the Laleri rushed from the room her voice floated back to Orvos, “Tell Julien he’s forbidden to die before I get there”.

Orvos touched the control on his temple and immediately sent his drone down the hall after them. Through a small speaker on the ship, he spoke. “I’ll be near the entry way of the lab. Once I’ve done my bit, I’ll do what I can with this beauty.” He then allowed the drone to zoom ahead to their destination, and attached itself silently to the wall outside the lab.

Orvos then prepared the communications array to locate the Athena for a message.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

It patched them through, the channel was open…

Once the channel was open, he immediately contacted the Athena. =/\=Legen to Athena, do not approach Rure Penthe! This is your chief engineer speaking! The shields are up and it’s a trap! I’ll need to bring the shields down before you can approach. I’m also working on getting Isabel Delaney safely out of here. I know where she is. Let me take down the shields. Please let me know you have received this message!=/\=

Orvos then scanned the systems that were operational on Rure Penthe. If weapons were down, he had a high probability that he could simply shoot down all of the shield generators inside of the shields. The vessel responded to him. Why not use it?

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

=/\=Acknowledged, Chief. We’re backing off,=/\= Koraia replied.

Good, thought Orvos. Once he had the shields down he would give a better report.

A 3D heads up display suddenly appeared in the ships window and a female voice started to speak directly into Orvos’ earpiece. “Orvos, I am detecting elevated norepinephrine levels in your synaptic relays, all ships systems are functional and awaiting your command, would you like to initiate instant kill mode?”

A big smile appeared on Orvos’s face. “Remind me again, what is instant kill mode?” Inside he was jumping up and down. Not only did this wonderful piece of technology recognize him as some sort of operator, but it was far more advanced than what Starfleet had available for his use. It reminded him of the Aurora and the multi-faceted technology that had compromised the great ship. Oh, I’m going to love this!

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

The same lilting female voice replied, “Instant kill mode targets all energy sources with phased torpedoes enabling detonation at the source without needing to make holes in the walls of the structure. Simultaneously it targets living beings with phasers allowing you to terminate or stun them with just a thought, however sir, that does require a line of sight first”.

His eyes lit up like Christmas trees. Orvos immediately activated the switch to shut the doors to the Cryano and seal himself in. “Yes, let’s activate instant kill mode, umm. What’s your name? You can’t simply be ‘computer’. And who created you?”

“Instant kill mode activated sir, awaiting your instructions. In answer to your enquiry, I was created by yourself and Reginald Barclay and my name is Aurora”.

There was a brief pause before he spoke. This was his ship. She wasn’t the same ship he had built, but she would do quite well.

He said those things as he closed his eyes and allowed his vision to see through the drone’s cameras once again. He detached his drone from the wall and peered inside the lab at the chaos ensuing. Once he was sure that nobody was aware of him, he sent the drone in and allowed it to hover at the top most reaches of the ceiling for a moment.

Orvos then opened his eyes and thought about the shield arrays, assuming the systems would pick up on his thoughts. He didn’t want to fire just yet though.

He closed his eyes again, resuming control of the drone. Taking in the angles of the room, Orvos then projected his voice throughout the room, using the various angles to make his voice seem all over.

“Hello Rura Penthe! Guess who? Haha! Now if you all could just stop moving around, because I AM TALKING!” He paused getting a visual of the issues below.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

The voice was loud and sufficient distraction to stop everyone in their tracks, including Liam, the tension in the distant room was going to explode at any moment…

OOC: that’s a very dr who moment, Orvos. lol
- Miriam

OOC My thoughts exactly :-) Ian

OOC: Were you expecting anything less? :P

IC: Orvos resumed speaking when he saw that all were still. =/\=Question: Who is about to disable the shield array of this wonderful planet? Answer: Me. Next question: Who’s going to stop me from doing anything else? Well? Come on, now, speak up, we don’t have all day. I already gave you a freebie.=/\=

Everything seemed to happen at once. Hamilton hit a button and suddenly Aurora’s sensor board lit up with moving life signatures, some of them dangerously close to the cargo bay. Transporter beams arced out from the station but were bounced by the modified shield matrix on the Athena that blocked both incoming and outgoing transporters.

Julien screamed over the comm “Orvos! We‘re going to get overrun here. Get those shields down, get us help!”

He paused, allowing the voices, if any, to pour into his mind as they spoke. Meanwhile, he inquired the ship some more. “Aurora, what sort of damage are we looking at if I send a small yield of torpedoes to take out the shield arrays? Where are they all located?”

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Aurora’s sing-song voice replied instantly “There are shield arrays in six locations” On the screen, they lit up in purple flashing dots one of which was dangerously close to Isabel’s position. “All life within two hundred meters will be extinguished and hull breaches will shut down those areas to access. You need to destroy at least four stations to allow access to the station from these points”. Green points flashed up at the cargo bay and two other locations on the east and south sides of the compound.
