Hello everyone,I’m back now, after a very long LOA and I’ve missed writing on the Athena with you very much! I see a few new faces on the roster and a few names I recognise from olden times :-) welcome on the Athena.
I’m looking forward to writing with you.
Iain, Lindsay said you recently posted a sim update somewhere? Would you kindly point me in the direction?For those interested why I was away for so long - a couple of things happened all at once (just so typical of life). I got promoted to a much bigger role that had been vacant for 6 months and had to get on top of it all fast. Part of that entails a lot of international travel in different time zones. Coincidentially we found the perfect house and that doesn’t happen all that oftenm, so we also moved house (120 boxes + all furniture). Finally we discovered a hobby/sport we mutually fell in love with, so went scuba diving 3 times, cause hey, when you work hard you do need breaks! The real free time killer though was the move.
So, I can’t wait to get into the thick of it again, I hope I haven’t missed too much of this amazing sim :-)

Beyond the bounds of seeming possibility the madman of Rura Penthe turns out to be the mirror version of Pierce Hamilton the Second who in the Athena’s last adventure nearly destroyed the timeline with the help of Counter Strike. Before he was dispatched, our universes Pierce Hamilton showed Mirror Pierce technology that would use the Mirror Orb to make super dense super soldiers by combining Mirror versions of people with our universes counterparts.
Mirror Pierce knows the Athena is coming to Rura Penthe, trying to get Isabel and Orvos back and he plans to trap them all and use them as “meat” for his experiments.
Meanwhile on Mirror Risa can Kaylee and the team stop the Taurus Pact from raising hell and destroying the galaxies one shot at peace and resistance against the faltering Cardassian/Klingon Alliance?
All hell breaks loose on Rura Penthe and on Risa. On Rura Penthe a pitched battle takes place to save the Athena from Pierce Hamilton’s plan to absorb the crew into his super soldier army. The Mirror Orb of the Prophets must be restored and the remnants of the Klingon Cardassian alliance destroyed.
Mirror Laraan seeking revenge for the destruction of her people is hell bent on destroying any chance of the Human Alliance joining with the Taurus Pact at the Risa talks. Can the Athena’s diplomatic envoys stop her and allow the Allies the chance to unite against the common foe?
That’s it apart from Orvos doing Doctor Who impersonations on Rura Penthe while trying to save Isabel who is trying to save her counterpart who is being aided by Mirror Julien, while being attacked by Mirror Rovan… (I need to lie down now… headache)
Feel free to fit in where you’d like on the ship. T’Pon just gave birth to Meryidiyth in sickbay so that’d be a likely place for you to go and it’s nice and quiet there right now so of course, NOTHING bad could happen in the near future…

Sorry, didn’t see this until today. First Christmas back in NZ for 11 years and we nearly spent it in the hospital with my wife’s mother who had a nasty fall. Everythings improving now, one sprained hip and a wheelchair later and some pain meds and were on our way again. I did not know you could sprain your hip! But that was better than what we feared which was broken bones (she’s only just recovered from smashing the other one and having rods in…). So anyway, apologies to all for being off grid for a bit.
