IC: Liam inhaled and exhaled, thinking for a moment. He couldn’t run around to all five decks in order to calibrate them. This required some help causing him to press his combadge. The more time he wasted, the worst things would get.

=^= Madison to Officers Bowdour, Charlet, Markell, sh’Kela and Muroc. I need each of you to rewire the five shield generators to the master control in the transporter room one. Notify me when you’re done.=^=

Time ticked by as he waited for his officers to work and check-in.

OOC: Letting GM determine if everything went smooth or issues happened.

=/\= Bowdour here, all set sir =/\=

=/\= Charlet here, all systems go sir =/\=

=/\= Markell here sir, mods were successful we’re good to go my end =/\=

=/\= sh’Kela reporting, orders carried out sir =/\=

There was a long pause

=/\= Muroc here, sorry for the time sir, the anomalies had created some damage my end, all fixed now but I’d advise speed, sir, bits and parts of the ship seem to be phasing in and out at an ever-increasing rate =/\=

Liam darted from one reading to another, fully aware of the condition for each one. His fingers clicked to ensure all were connected. For a bit, he worried Muroc might’ve had some trouble. He looked to the Engineer and spoke.

“I’m ready.” With that, he began to recalibrate each shield generator.

Kurok matched Madison’s calibrations with a steady power flow to the shield emitters and as the shields came online in their new job as transport inhibitor’s the Athena seemed to exhale a sigh of relief.

Liam looked to Kurok, noting his relief. It seemed their job was done which left him feeling the full effects of a late-night and emotional exhaustion. He leaned heavily on the console before he looked to Kurok.

“I think we should do a ship wide scan to see if this idea is working.” Liam was the cautious type, so his suggestion wasn’t made lightly.

“On it,” Kurok said with a furrowed brow. The results came back relatively swiftly and all in the green, then Kurok’s eyes widened slightly. “Um, sir, it seems that we’ve been successful but repelling all this errant energy is putting quite a tax on the engines and the emitters are going to need care that we don’t overtax them. The computer estimates that we can keep this up for less than two days before they start to fuse and fail”.

Liam’s jaw tensed as he took a sharp breath. While he hoped the ship didn’t need protection for longer than a few hours, they had to prepare for the long game. He seriously regretted his Engineering knowledge being rusty from his hyper-focus on science.

“I’m going to check on Sickbay and see if they are still having issues. After that, I want to hear about our options.”

“Yes sir” Kurok replied.

=^= Madison to Grey, are you still experiencing the abnormalities?=^=

Since the CMO hadn’t checked in, Liam could only assume they were still struggling. His attention turned to the Engineer officer.

OOC: Looked in the backlog and couldn’t find anywhere that Grey had checked in. Figured this was a good time to share information and confirm it worked for Liam. IF It was, I apologize now.

OOC all good, they were using the holo emitters in sickbay so this will be a step up.

“=^=Grey here, no problems so far, your designs worked perfectly. We were almost crowded with some people earlier so I sent them on a hunch to the Holodeck and told them to set up something similar there. I got word back that it worked. T’Pon just gave birth with minimal issues to her and Doctor Moonshadows child, things seem to be calming down.=^=

=^= Tell the happy parents congratulations for me. As for the people in the holodeck, they should return to their stations. I used the shield generators to engulf the ship, but I now I got emitters and an engine problem. Keep me updated.=^=

Liam released his badge then turned to the Engineer and waited for solutions options. “Now, for this issue.”

–CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci

Kurok looked at his display. “As far as I can make out sir, the modified shields are doing their job but every “transporter/wormhole” surge that hits the ship drains our energy exponentially. It’s like were attached to a giant rubber band that’s trying to pull us back into our own galaxy and the shields are the only thing keeping us in one piece, the strain is enormous. Whatever that Prophet Orb was doing is unravelling. We need to get more energy and we need to keep a serious eye on those shield emitters. If even one of them goes out were going to have serious problems, we’re going to have to ask everyone to conserve energy”.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

Liam sighed through his nose in frustration. He began to monitor the shield emitters and consider where additional energy could be found, his eyes checking where he could reroute additional energy.

“I’ll inform the bridge and see if we can get this ship wide. See if there’s any spare power we can shift to the emitters.” Liam stated as he pressed his combadge.

=^= Madison to the Bridge. We have modified the shield to stop some abnormalities on the ship. Now we have a new issue. We need a ship wide alert to notify everyone conserve energy and any spare energy to be reroute as well. If one goes down, we’re going to have serious problems.=^=

If the bridge needed more information, he suspected they would ask for them.

–CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci

OOC: Not fully sure which thread to put that, so I decided to leave it here. If the GMT could be kind enough to pass it along, I would appreciate it or at least shoot me a link.
