Kurok looked at his display. “As far as I can make out sir, the modified shields are doing their job but every “transporter/wormhole” surge that hits the ship drains our energy exponentially. It’s like were attached to a giant rubber band that’s trying to pull us back into our own galaxy and the shields are the only thing keeping us in one piece, the strain is enormous. Whatever that Prophet Orb was doing is unravelling. We need to get more energy and we need to keep a serious eye on those shield emitters. If even one of them goes out were going to have serious problems, we’re going to have to ask everyone to conserve energy”.

Liam sighed through his nose in frustration. He began to monitor the shield emitters and consider where additional energy could be found, his eyes checking where he could reroute additional energy.

“I’ll inform the bridge and see if we can get this ship wide. See if there’s any spare power we can shift to the emitters.” Liam stated as he pressed his combadge.

=^= Madison to the Bridge. We have modified the shield to stop some abnormalities on the ship. Now we have a new issue. We need a ship wide alert to notify everyone conserve energy and any spare energy to be reroute as well. If one goes down, we’re going to have serious problems.=^=

If the bridge needed more information, he suspected they would ask for them.

Not wasting time, Liam began to shut off the non-essential systems draining the power. Starting with the most draining ones first. Then he pushed the spare energy into the emitters just to keep them going. Once more, he looked back over the oddities with the matter, namely the times it happened, location, and anything to help clue him into solutions.

There seemed to be a curious pattern to the energy that was trying to penetrate their modified transporter inhibiting shields. A 3D rendering of the ship from the scan information would probably reveal more.

Kurok mused as he looked at Rovan, “I was wondering sir, we’re safe from this “matter swapping” energy for the moment, but if we get attacked by a ship we’re a sitting duck”.
