With a nod from the Vulcan, Luc Picard took over again. “We stand ready to assist you to return Meryidyith to your ship but our task after that takes us elsewhere in the quadrant and we need you to take the Orb of the Prophets back to Risa. For reasons beyond our comprehension, it’s place is there in the temple and our Universes need its placement to continue to keep them separate”.

“Sounds like a plan,” Ghubari said. Finally something concrete!

Picard grimaced slightly and gave a wan smile, “For our part, we will ensure that the remnant of the Klingon Cardassian alliance stays out of your way and we have a mission specialist on loan who would like to temporarily join your crew”.

Of course you do… Ghubari thought shrewdly.

A young woman stepped into the frame with long shoulder length purple hair and eyes shaped like a Caitian’s, “I decided to ask to come aboard this time Captain, rather than sneaking, I’ve come to know that sort of thing irks you”, Meryidiyth smiled her a little but there was a tightness to her mouth that showed she was under great stress.

It was impossible not to smirk at the confluence of events and the woman’s remarks. “about damned time someone bothered to care,” she said with the tiniest hint of a smirk that quickly faded. “But you do realize that by coming on board you will be creating… a tension amongst my crew, yes? One that may not be fair.”

Meryidiyth had her turn at giving a slight smirk as she pressed a button on a wrist band and transformed into a rather nondescript looking woman wearing a lab coat. Even her voice was different. “Mobile holomatrix tech,” she said depreciatingly, “no one but you will know who I really am”.

Ghubari allowed herself to show a smile. “Alright then. You’re welcome aboard.” She nodded to tactical knowing they would coordinate the shields and not expose them for too long. “Double time… let’s call you Merri, just for kicks.” Ahh, something to relieve the slight tension in all of this was sorely welcome.

“Merri” smiled, “I’ll be on my way shortly Captain”

=/\= Lemann to the Bridge. T’Pon mentioned that she felt that Meryidiyth was in two places at once and then one disappeared like a big wall went up. =/\=

She paused for a moment, gathering her recollection of the woman’s words so she could continue to accurately provide the information.

=/\= She states Meryidiyth was in a corridor with phaser fire and fighting and they’re now in an open space where they’ve run into Pierce Hamilton. =/\=

Dr. Lemann

Koraia listened carefully and snapped her fingers at the people on the viewscreen. There was their target. How T’Pon knew all this she couldn’t guess but she knew well enough to know that there were things that couldn’t be explained.

=/\=Athena to Orvos. Heads up, Pierce Hamilton seems to be one epicentre of the action. I don’t know how that relates to you, but eyes open.=/\= Was that enough? She couldn’t know.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

Orvos replied to the captain. =/\=Understood. He’s here on Rura Penthe. We’ll find him.=/\=

As she had turned to go Merri had heard the messages coming in and quickly turned back to the screen. “My mother and I have a connection but I hadn’t counted that my other self would have further amplified that connection”.

She turned and headed for the shuttle.

Picard tugged his coat slightly rubbed his nose and addressed Koraia again, “I wanted to thank you Captain for getting involved in a fight that for all intents and purposes was not your own. Is it true that the Prophets brought you here?”

Ghubari went to speak but stood there uncertain for a moment. A brief moment, anyway. “Depends on how you look at it, I suppose,” she said openly. “One could say I had an… experience that matches what a lot of people have had during an orb experience, and I certainly spoke to someone with convincing reality. Whether that being was a Prophet or not, well, that is up for interpretation and personal Faith.” Her Faith was strong these days, though certainly not unshakeable. And she certainly couldn’t begrudge others their beliefs, but the being she spoke to she had fully understood as being Captain Benjamin Sisko. He was a mortal Human. The fact that he currently existed in a different plane of existence didn’t mean he was a god. But she certainly wasn’t going to say that aloud.

Va’rek stepped onto the Bridge and managed to suppress the awe he always felt at the back of his mind. Something about the Bridge of a Starship always struck a chord in him, though he would never allow such a feeling to be readable in his body language. Thus, he moved with precision to one of the engineering stations and began entering commands at the terminal, routing a minutely small percentage of extra power to the sensors and calibrating for sharper focus. As he worked, he bent his attention to will himself to focus solely on his duties.
