OOC Just to note that Orvos is about to jump from his thread in the Cyrano to joining you in the shuttle bay.

S’Raal saw the retreating back of Parce and barely managed to control himself. Looking at Gorn headed, Lethean handed monstrosities gave him pause though.

“I try not to judge based on appearances, but I am willing to declare ‘those’ are the bad guys.” R’han continued to sweep the shuttle based phasers at targets of opportunity. What he could not do is shoot at the retreating Parce as intentionally or unintentionally he had a hostage/human shield.

R’han dipped the shuttle close to the deck so his passengers could disembark ‘safely’.

He looked at Luka and hissed under his breath, “I don’t care what they are… they die!”. Forgoing energy weapons S’Raal strapped on his family heirloom claw extensions and nodded to Michail who had pulled out a tiny weapon from within his clothing.

He saw S’Raal’s look and winked, “Noisy Cricket,” he said depreciatingly, “Much more bite than bark”.

They both charged the line making sure they didn’t obstruct Luka’s line of fire.

S’Raal and Michail

As they advanced and some of the monstrosities went down under Luka’s barrage a number of the creatures dropped to all fours and placed their hands on the metal deck plating…

Laraan exited last, moving nimbly and fast. It was all some sort of sick deja vu. Everyone fighting pawns while the true villain was about to escape… again. Well not this time. She had formed a plan and it went against everything she believed in, all she had ever learned and broke about every promise she had ever given her family and her people. She had never been a fighter, was unarmed and not half as strong as R’han, S’Raal, Michail or Luka, but she was fast.

So she ran, making sure not to get too close to any of her crew mates - right into the throng of uglies that were between her and Meridyth. And as she ran she stretched out her hands in front of her, marshalling all her concentration and then she drew in life energy like she never had before, faster and harder, from as far ahead of her as possible, concentrating on the dirty, sticky-feeling life energy of those abominations, drawing it out of them… or so she hoped. She had no clue if it would work. If not she would just run into a throng of monsters that could kill her in seconds. She had no idea what that kind of energy would do to her, whether she could keep it under control or what to do with it, but she simply saw no other way.
A part of her mind thought of Stark, whishing he would be here, that she would see him, feel his fur… one last time.

  • Laraan, CNS

It was working with creatures fainting from lack of energy all around her, but then from further away the claws of the creatures made contact with the floor and sent out a massive electrical shockwave knocking her into the air, overloaded and close to insensibility. S’Raal close behind was similarly incapacitated.

Luka continued to mercilessly destroy the beasts, her teeth bared as she skillfully pointed her phaser at one after another.

Luka, XO

The electrical charge was lesser at Luka’s and Michail’s position and both of them fought to maintain consciousness under the barrage.

OOC Author’s note, you’re down but not out and Orvos is still a wild card due to not having set foot outside the Cyrano yet.

R’han programmed the shuttle to rise to 10,000 meters and stand by for either an automatic transporter request… or a return to land. He shook his head… he guessed that they were going to go a ground and pound approach. R’han joined his team mates bounding after the child.

R’han

Luka fell, but got up again, gritting her teeth angrily and shooting again. Saliva began to drip from her jaw as she jutted forward, trying to get to the kidnapper.

Luka

She shook herself and propped herself up on her bruised palms, not too far away S’Raal had been knocked down as well. Her head was swimming with energy, she felt so overloaded it felt almost like she was on fire, she had to get rid of some. Amidst the fray she rolled over to S’Raal and laid her hand on his arm, not only channeling but all but speed-dumping energy into him that he would surely be able to put to good use. Also it gave her a few valuable seconds to recover herself and get to grips with the mealstorm of energy swirling within her.

  • Laraan, CNS

S’Raal convulsed with the sudden inrush of energy and whiplashed his mobile spine launching himself to his feet and helping her up.

“Thank you,” he said sincerely checking to make sure the others had her back he shot off like a bullet, eyes glowing red as the hereditary blood lust of his ancestors started to add supercharged adrenalin to Heleen energy. One of the creatures rose up before him but he ignored it and simply threw himself into space using the creature’s head as a launching platform. Impossibly he started running across the top of their heads.

More. She needed to get rid of more energy. Watching S’Raal gaining on his daughter with her energy boost made her think that this was the best way to get the advantage. She looked around for the next closest of her crew mates and rushed to them, dodging the creatures, and as soon as she touched one of the others, she fast-channeled excess energy into them, feeling more level-headed with each energy transfer.

  • Laraan
OOC: To the others, you would just feel like you just drank Miraculix’s magic strength & might potion ;-)

Luka felt the rush of energy. She shivered with the sudden rush of energy and rushed after S’Raal, crashing through the monsters, nearly dropping her phasers but managing to holster them before she began to rip into the creatures with her bare hands, pushing them to the side and running forward as fast as she could, powerful legs carrying her with the new energy closer to S’Raal and closer to that baby.

Luka, raging XO

“Your tactics are unsound.” R’han commented to Luka’s retreating back. “You can’t rescue anyone if you’re dead.” He shrugged. He doubted that anyone would listen to him. He was forced to press on faster than he wanted to because everyone else wasn’t maneuvering smartly. R’han phasered to the left and right of the moving parties. Doing his best to protect the team’s flanks and trying to keep them from being enfiladed, encircled, and destroyed.

As they forged forward the creatures started to retreat back down the corridor into a wider area. Orvos’ drone flew out of the corridor to be reunited with its owner, who was emerging from the Cyrano to join the group.

There was the sound of thunder coming from a corridor on the other side of the open space the creatures were retreating to.

Impossibly from the opposite direction came two Isabel’s, Julien, Rovan, Allison, Ben, Janna, Luka, Ghubari* and a horde of Irish looking Marines…

OOC This is going to get messy :-)

Isabel had seen the other universe’s version of her dead brother and had she not been in battle mode, she would have succumbed to grief and a strange sort of relief to see his face, but she could not. Perhaps after this was all done....

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

R’han CTO

Luka stopped dead in her tracks, the neck of one of the creatures in her jaw, as she saw several individuals coming out of the corridor. Specifically, her eyes were focused on the person who looked just like her. The same fur patterns, the same facial shape, the same eyes. It was her.

“Well. This is a treat…” she commented, dropping the creature. “Help us get that baby!” she exclaimed loudly, then returned to her attack, pulling out her phasers and shooting the creatures again.

Luka, XO

R’han did not think the meeting was going to be a positive one… if this was a mirror universe then likely the motivation of their opposite members were going to be… well opposite. R’han didn’t point his phaser at the mirrored group, but he didn’t quite not point it at them…

Orvos emerged from the Cyrano having donned a helmet of sorts and his arm being held out for his drone to make its landing on. Strapped on his belt were two Klingon disruptors. Suffice it to say, he looked nothing like the true chief engineer he was. He soaked in the situation before him as people emerged from everywhere, yet no Hamilton was in sight.

Orvos pulled out one disruptor and leveled it to the ready. With both hands on the weapon, it would make it very easy for him to activate his own special El Aurian shield device on his wrist. It could withstand a lot, but a horde of these creatures would put its power to the test.

“Aurora, I need pinpoint precision with the Cyrano’s phasers. Take out these creatures as I see them, but do not fire if friendlies get in the mix. I’ve mentally tagged them on the HUD. Once we’re no longer in the bay, hold fire.”

He then moved forward.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

OOC Actually we’ve moved down the corridor into another open auditorium like space, but let’s clean up here first and then transfer yourself into the other room as if you were there all along :-)

Aurora picked off the remaining creatures that had not retreated with alacrity and even gave a small giggle when she managed to take out two with one shot.

As Orvos emerged into the room hard on the heels of the others he heard a booming voice scream out.

“Everyone freeze or the baby is dead!”.

Encircled by the creatures left was Pierce Hamilton and the traitor, Lieutenant Parce. The baby, Meryidiyth, was being held in the hands of one of the creatures who was looking eagerly at its master ready to electrocute the child at a moment’s notice if Pierce’s order was disobeyed.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

“I don’t know how you imagine this is going to end without us having the child.” R’han commented loudly. “Rest assured you’re fates are connected. Anything that happens to that child is going to happen to you.. so right now you are going to get held somewhat gently… but if you but so much as a scratch on that child…” R’han smiled, then started chuckling… “I don’t think anyone here would stop me for a change.”

R’han CTO

Michail nodded in agreement with R’han’s words, the temporal war was such that you could be wiped from existence rather too easily…

S’Raal muttered an aside to R’han that got gradually louder, “I won’t stop you, but I’d consider it a favor if you could make it slow and painful so that he’s still breathing when I rip his heart out of his chest”.

S’Raal and Michail

Luka froze as instructed, but didn’t say anything. The words spoken by R’han were sufficient. She glanced back at their mirror versions, focusing her gaze on the other version of herself before turning back to focus on Parce and Pierce.

  • Luka

Isabel narrowed her eyes at Pierce and then took careful aim at the creature’s brain. One shot would stun, a second would take him out. The baby was in his arms though and she wouldn’t shoot until either she was told to, or if she determined it would not harm the child in doing it. She didn’t know who the baby was, but she knew that a child should never be a hostage.

Delaney, Sec

Orvos whispered into his secret com-link to Julien. =/\=Flanking positions might be ideal right now.=/\=

Julien gave a barely perceptible nod that he had recieved the message.

Orvos needed to distract Hamilton. But he also needed answers. They clearly needed the child, or knew that the child served some sort of supreme importance to them. Dead or alive, he wasn’t sure.

He then whispered into his helmet behind the entourage to Aurora. “Aurora, I need pertinent information in the computer database on this Mr. Hamilton and if you have any information on Lt. Parce that too might be helpful.”

Aurora replied, =/\= Pierce Hamilton, servant to Intendant Kira Nerys until her demise, second in charge to Intendant Torres before her demise and now a freelance mercenary for the Klingon Cardassian Alliance. Genetic Scientist wanted in all sectors for crimes against sentient beings. I have no information on Lieutenant Parce other than he visited this dimension from yours 6 months ago and spent one day on Risa, =/\=

Orvos decided to give up his location for the advantage of being front and center, and perhaps exceptionally annoying. He holstered his disruptor and put his hands behind his back, his finger on the trigger to bring up his personal shield at a moment’s notice. He slowly moved forward amidst the tense moment, not making much of a scene, but still making it obvious that he was moving.

When he finally made it to the front of the group, he stepped forward and stopped. “Well, Mr. Hamilton. Tell me, what’s to gain from all of this? Supreme power? Galactic domination? Why?” Orvos was calm, cool, and collected.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Hamilton rolled his eyes at Orvos and R’han, “You want me to monologue while you surround me eh…” he grinned viciously, “Well, I’ll oblige just a little, you see, I was never after this baby, she was just a means to an end, my real target was someone else”.

He nodded to Parce and within less than a second four things happened.

Parce fired at Michail who went down in a shower of sparks.

“Nooo!” Laraan screamed angrily and rushed to MIchail, knowing that Luka and S’Raal would go for Meridyth.

Hamilton threw the baby up in a high arc.

Hamilton and Parce disappeared in a site to site transport.

The creatures charged…

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

Luka considered her options and made her decision. luckily she had been close to Hamilton. Her powerful legs carried her forward and she launched into the air, sailing over the creatures and turning in the air to catch the baby, wrapping around the child and cradling her as she fell to the ground. Landing on her back, she knew she’d be exposed to the creatures, so as quickly as she could, the officer stood and began to run away, heading towards the nearest easily scalable surface where she could get above the crowd.

Luka, XO

S’Raal was right there protecting Luka’s back the whole way. His eyes glowed an unholy red as he ripped throats that came near.

It was all a play… R’han coldly assessed, each designed to distract from the real target Hamilton… In perhaps a very inhuman… unemotional manner, R’han ignored the attacking monsters… even the thrown baby… knowing both were feints and hopefully both will be dealt with by the ‘emotional’ crew members about him. R’han instead phasered the transporting Hamilton…

He knew transporting wasn’t a magical shield. An appropriately placed phaser blast through energy particles can still kill the dematerializing person if applied quick enough… R’han normally was very fast.

R’han

S’Raal Cran Moonshadow

The blast was partially deflected, that in itself was enough to know that at least part of the energy had gone into the matter stream, as to the results of the blast time alone only knew what it had done.

As soon as Hamilton’s transporter beam had vanished the remaining creatures stopped moving and quietly started shuffling into some semblance of bizarre parade rest.

Michail lay on the floor, smoke and sparks coming from a huge hole through his midriff. Amazingly his eyes were still open.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

Laraan reached Michail and put her face close to his, right in front of his still open eyes, while putting her hands on both sides of his face channelling energy into him as fast as she could. Her large light grey eyes glistened. She only had basic medical training, but even she saw that it was a potentially fatal wound.

“Get a med kit!” she called out to whoever would hear. Then she lowered her voice so he could hear her.

“Michail, stay with me. I can only boost you, not heal you… god I wish I could! Stay with me please, Stark will be so upset with us if you die on me now.” she pleaded with him.
