Somewhere in the recesses of her brain, Jessica was aware that physical affection was likely not something the Vulcan was accustomed to, but her jubilance at her evening out had taken over. She peered over his shoulder as he punched in the command for the beverages and then reached out to snap it out of his hand after he had completed his task, adding an order of French fries to the request as well. She tossed the PaDD down onto the table with a small clatter and then almost…bounced… eagerly in her chair. “I don’t know if they pair well with your Vulcan brandy, but I need some fried salt,” she commented.

Managing a rather slick recovery, Va’rek replied with a rather serious expression. Though he softened it just slightly at the end… “Vulcan Brandy pairs well with most dishes.”
Then, as if he’d forgotten his homework, he reached for the PaDD again and put in an order of Fried Okra with a gruyere sauce on the side. He raised an eyebrow at Jess, looking every bit the stereotypical Vulcan. “Especially Fried Okra.” He nearly laughed but caught himself, and glanced at Orvos as he smiled instead.

(Bump for Tony)

Orvos had maintained a sense of quiet as he observed the duo. If his senses were right, Orvos was feeling a slight ebb of emotion stemming from the Vulcan himself. But, he maintained his observations in the quiet of his mind.

Orvos smiled in return. “A smile from a Vulcan is a rare commodity, but a welcome one,” he said. Moving the topic onward, hoping to not make the man feel awkward, he said, “So, engineering eh? I’m sure you would happen to know a thing or two about sonic showers, right?”

As he had spoken, Orvos input his own order of sushi and Vulcan brandy, as Va’rek has suggested.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Jessica remained shockingly silent as the other two completed their orders and then conversed. She didn’t have anything to say about sonic showers, it turned out. Instead she glanced around the lounge, taking in the various crew members that were enjoying some off-duty time in the space. She grinned as she caught sight of the CIO, raising her hand to waggle her fingers at him in greeting.

He looked at her and nodded his head as if to ask if he was being invited to come over or just being casually recognized as being present.

Stark Nightstalker CIO

Jessica cocked her head to the side as she processed the Caitian’s question. Her eyes flicked to the empty chair next to the CE and then back to him as she nodded and crooked her finger to gesture him over to the group. Her attention was then quickly distracted by the arrival of the selected food and beverages. Within seconds of the dish being placed in front of her, Jessica had snatched up a fry and began munching on it in delight.

Va’rek nodded as Orvos spoke. The man was odd, but he still felt a desire to impress amid all the other fluctuating feelings roiling around inside him. A chance to speak with a colleague about the field he loved, his life’s work… that was rare, even in Starfleet. However, Orvos’ question caught him off guard and he glanced from the Chief to Jessica slightly confused before deciding to make a joke of it. In that perfect Vulcan fashion, the smile faded to a serious facade and one indicting eyebrow rose a good deal.

“Sonic Showers… Are you implying that I require…freshening up?” He held the deadpan look for an extra couple of seconds before cutting the tension by lifting the tumbler of brandy to his lips and hoping the relief didn’t show in his face as the alcohol trailed into his belly. He hadn’t noticed Jessica’s silent interplay with Stark yet. Holding more than one conversation at a time was… taxing, to say the least. Perhaps he’d have another brandy after they’d eaten.
