and that was when the red alert siren rang out announcing an imminent core breach.

Jessica’s blonde head whipped up from her study of the Vulcan’s vital signs as the klaxon rang out. Her eyes instantly filled with tears again as she forced herself to focus on Grey. “I… assume there isn’t anything we can do to help,” she remarked, trying to force her normal levity into the situation, but her voice trembled over the words.

Ceres turned over to the doctors, his face a mask of concentration. “Where there is life, there’s hope,” he said nodding his head slowly. Within the holographic shell of Ensign Ceres, the real Michail thought to himself, “If only the future was as fixed as we’d like”. Turning his holographic Asian features back to the doctors he spoke again. “Drinks are on me when we’re all out of this mess”.

Ben felt a lump in his throat form, clearing his throat he forced a smile “Don’t worry” He put an arm across Jessica’s shoulder “The Captain’ll get us out of this” He tried to comfort himself as much he tried to comfort the others “I’ll take you up on that, no synthahol rubbish though” He made a mental note to hide flasks in each Sickbay if they lived through this. “Let’s focus on our Patients Doctor Lemann, trust our crewmates.”

Dr. Grey - CMO

Jessica leaned briefly into the comforting arm around her shoulder, the finest shreds of understanding remaining enough to keep her from wrapping her arms completely around her superior. With that, she forced herself to separate from him, nodding in agreement to both of his comments and offering a small smile through watery eyes. “A drink would be much appreciated after this.”

A quiet voice gradually coming out of her stupor said, “Where’s my baby?”

T’Pon

Jessica had followed her superior’s instructions and remained busy around her patient, doing her best to ensure that the area was neatly organized and T’Pon was monitored carefully. Even then, though, the quiet voice surprised her in her state of anxiety and she quickly whipped around to look at the woman. Forcing a comforting smile onto her features, she hoped that the tracks from the salty tears had dried as she spoke, willing her voice to be calm and even, “Your husband is finding her.”

Benjamin’s mind turned back to when the child was taken when the kidnapper asked him to turn off the inhibitors that allowed the kidnapping to take place in the first place and he suddenly felt the whole weight of his shame hitting like a tsunami. He turned away and went to assist an officer with a cut he got during the previous panic, trying his best to seem composed and in command.

Dr. Grey - CMO

T’Pon was drifting in and out of consciousness, “S’Raal” she said with a small smile, then a frown came over her face, “Meryidiyth, where are you Meryidiyth…?”

Suddenly the red alert klaxons went off. Ceres shuffled over to a nearby console, “That’s a relief” he said quietly and then his eyes widened, “Warp core’s been ejected but someone’s trying to torpedo it, we need to brace…”

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

Benjamin’s shoulders slumped slightly, apparently, there was something below rock bottom, to be exact a photon torpedo. He turned to face the crowd filling up the small sickbay “Alright you know the drill, secure the patients that need to be secured then make sure no equipment goes flying around. Then brace for impact” He called to his staff before walking with determination to the nearest bedridden patient, fastening them into their bed.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Jessica’s green eyes started to fill with panicked tears but before they could spill over, Grey had issued his orders and she embraced them full force, practically sprinting to the nearest patient to begin to secure them for any impact. She hoped that T’Pon wouldn’t fight the restraints in her state of altered consciousness as she began to snap them on to secure her.

Dr. Lemann

T’Pon wasn’t fully conscious but from the small smile on her face, it seemed she was having a very pleasant dream.

T’Pon

Jessica let out the breath she had been holding as the final restraint cinched over the Vulcan’s form. She studied her for another second before she forced herself to move onto the next patient, throwing herself into the methodical nature of restraining the injured or ill crew members to avoid considering the practical details of what the warning had indicated.
