“Woohoo! Yippee! Yay! Higher!” came the voices of several small children from behind the cottage.

A clattering of kitchen pots and pans to the floor made a certain woman inside sigh and walk out the front door. There before them stood Laraan, frustrated about what clearly just happened inside. However upon seeing Stark and Janna, her weariness turned to joy. “There you are!” she said, stepping down to the path. “What are the two of you doing out here? The children couldn’t have tuckered you out already, Stark?” She put her hands on him, channeling energy that he was all too familiar with.

Kingston shot a surprised and slightly amused look at Stark and his expression confirmed her thoughts.

She then turned to Janna. “It’s nice of you to come visit! Are you here for a social visit this time? Or were you looking to tend the greenhouse some more?” She gestured to another path that led to the right of the house to a much larger building.

She looked on them with curiosity, hoping to get some explanation quickly.

Stark was too stunned to say anything. A mind that could vector four combatants at once had totally shut down at one word… “children”. His mouth moved to make sounds several times but nothing would come out, all he could do was look at the others and look totally helpless.

OOC I’m laughing so hard right now.

OOC: I’m glad! lol. I thought it would be an interesting surprise. :P

“Sure… greenhouse. Why not,” Janna said, feeling so off-balance right now that she really didn’t see any other option but to go where she was led. She’d either come out of this alive, or not.

Moving away from Orvos and Stark, and the… scene, Janna ventured down the path.

Laraan looked to Stark questioningly. Then she gave a look toward Janna as she walked away. He would likely get clued in to find out what was wrong with her. “I’ll take care of things here,” she said and then turned back towards the house.

OOC: Little side note, Orvos is not actually with you guys. I might not have made that obvious, so no worries. :) Also, here is an image of the greenhouse exterior: https://www.pexels.com/photo/red-petaled-flowers-near-green-grass-1754064/ )

IC: The path Janna took led her to a glass structure with a great many different types of plants. She was at the moment, alone on the path. Nobody was there to hinder her or even coming close to threatening her life. She would also feel a sense of joy, even if a bit remote that almost felt as though it wanted to stretch over her like a warm blanket. But the metaphorical blanket need to be grabbed first. She needed to allow herself some time to touch it before getting all wrapped up in it.

Stark moved slowly along the path and stood further back from Janna looking at the amazing visage. His eyes were misted and he wiped them angrily. “Children”, he whispered, memories of his mother and father, dead at the hands of an assassin rose within. Until this moment he had never known his secret longing for a family. Professionally he wanted to stay with Janna but a bigger part of him wanted to run down the path scoop up the little bundles and stay forever…

The part of her that analyzed people’s behaviour remained detached as she gazed at the odd scene. First a Borg dance party and now a very old glasshouse? Huh. But there was a strange feeling pushing against her and Janna was at a loss for how to explain it. It made her think of family dinners with her mothers as they enjoyed the sound of crashing waves from the ocean their house overlooked. The warm air of spring in Heliopolis, which was a very different setting than the lovely one she was standing in. But both made her smile, and for a brief moment she could forget the terror that had been running in a low-grade fashion ever since she had been whisked away by Kivon.

“Quite the place, isn’t it?” spoke an unfamiliar voice from behind them. The dark skinned woman spoke gently, her hair braided and pulled back. She wore dark purple and blue garb. A soft, wise smile was splayed across her face as she sought out their reactions. Nothing had given her away until now.

-The Nexus and…I wonder…

Stark had done a lot of research into past missions of nearly every ship of the line and one look at this woman and he was pretty sure who he was talking to.

“It is,” he said bluntly, wanting pretty much to make the woman talk rather than listen which if he was right was what she considered herself to be really good at.
