The Vulcan had followed the others, oscillating between talkative and shy. He now was listening to the banter as he chose his own Cue. Noting the shape of the cue stick, he laid one on the table and rolled it gently to see if it was in ‘true’, then picked it up and tested the weight of the heavy end. “This should suffice.” He said half to himself, eyebrows raising gently. He looked up to see Jessica bump into Stark, and was somewhat puzzled by the interaction. However, he said nothing and mentally went over anything he’d heard in the past about the game. Quiet or no.. he was having a good time.
Stark raised an eyebrow but then smiled slightly, it seemed there were players and then there were “players” in this game. He was still having difficulty keeping his claws in and made a mental note to give himself some time in the Arboretum. He had a standing deal with T’Pon to trim and tame some of the trees if and when the need to shred came upon him.

Orvos noted Va’rek’s test of the cue. For having never played, the man sure seemed to start having a solid grasp on it. Few newcomers, if any, ever thought of testing the cue the way he had. Was Orvos in over his head? Perhaps, but he didn’t care. The opportunity to know them and listen was well worth the loss of a little pride.
“We can play in pairs if you like. The goal is to sink balls into pockets. Teams go back and forth making shots. The black 8 ball is the final shot so if you sink it before sinking your other balls, your team loses. Each team will end up selecting whether to sink solid balls or striped balls.”
He then set one ball out and the cue ball opposite it. “For those who have never seen a shot and would like a practice shot, since we seem to have some newbies here, just watch.”
Orvos leaned forward, his left hand resting on the table as pointer finger nestled the end of the cue onto the crook of his thumb. He kept his right hand at the opposite end, using it for thrust. After 3 tests, he pushed the cue forward sending the white ball careening into the black 8 ball he placed at the end. He then stood back up right and looked to the others curiously. “Any of you care to make a test shot for free?”

Jessica studied Legen’s test shots with the interest of someone who had never played the game before, chewing on her lower lip. As he completed his third test, she bounded over to the table as well, mimicking his actions to set up for a shot, although her attempt went somewhat wild with the white ball careening nowhere near the black ball she had carefully placed at the end. Her nose crinkled slightly as she looked at her compatriots and offered a shrug and a playfully innocent grin. “So who wants me on their team?”
