Do you have you bathing suit? We are going to be gone a two weeks, someone is going to try and force you to swim… probably Kestra… Konral said to his wife while he was in the bathroom, putting away items they would need for this trip. Ever since Konral had suggested this idea to Ghubari, he wasn’t sure they would ever get to go. The truth was he had missed his family, work had been so focused and every mission seemed to have personal daggers directed right at them that now, more than ever, was a time to get away.

Naturally, she quipped. Especially since I spent so much time in the old Athena’s hot tub, Ghubari added, laughing. It was a carefree sounding laugh and yet there was nothing carefree about Ghubari Koraia. Certainly not recently. They hadn’t talked about it yet, but her and Konral couldn’t hide anything from each other. It was impossible. And yet she had no desire to unpack recent events. Not yet. It was too much.

Moving over to the desk in their quarters, she picked up the baseball that Sisko had given her in that… realm, place. She still expected it to dissolve and just be a figment of her imagination, but it felt solid in her hand. So very strange.

Konral could feel the turmoil from his wife as he walked over as he saw her examining the ball in her hands as he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist as he pulled her tightly into his body. Do you want to talk? he asked her as he kissed her neck as he let her feel the love and warmth he had for her in that moment. You know I am always here… always he added as they all had gone through a crazy ride, but everyone had gone through something different for them.

She tilted her neck, letting her mind absorb the exquisite sensations on her neck. Small things. Small joys. She didn’t want to talk. And yet… denying him felt wrong. Ghubari sighed. I don’t know, Ral. I don’t even know where to begin. Her fingers tightened around the baseball.

We have plenty of time… Konral turned her around as he smiled softly at his beautiful wife as his mind slipped a more carnal desire to help her. So much of the pain he knew he could let slip away if even just for a moment.

Mmmm, I think we’ve learned that Time is even more relative then ever, but I don’t disagree, she said playfully.

I have an idea… he said as he began to trace the line of her life waist as he kept her eyes locked on hers as the clothing fell down as he lowered to his knees as he focused on the one thing he knew could make her forget even if just for a second.

She was going to question what his idea was but then it very soon became apparent. Sometimes being married to a telepath had its perks.

Time passed on how wet bliss, sounds from any passing crew would wonder if the room was haunted before the two finished there afternoon delights as Konral held Ghuabri now on the bed, the room seeming to have turned into a mess as nothing but the sheet seemed to cover the two.

I think we both needed to remind each other the good things in life… wouldn’t you say? he asked as he wrapped around her closely as he leaned in to kiss her cheek. It was a sign of the weight that they needed to pack but instead found time for pleasure between husband and wife to cement the bond.

Slipping a bare leg over his, she tilted her chin upwards and smiled deeply before kissing just under the tip of his chin. They are unfortunately easy to forget it seems. Her fingers traced up and down his arm gently, as if she wanted to memorize the feel of his skin. She almost went to say something else, but her thoughts were rather jumbled so she just snuggled in closer trying to hold on to the moment.

Life had twisted hard against them, but they always found time for each other. “Do you remember what clothes we had set aside to pack?” Konral said aloud as he began to sit up as he looked at the mess. It was during times of great stress that the two ended up making the room look like such, as normally they tended to both be very neat.

Tightening her core muscles and sitting up slightly to peer over his body, Ghubari surveyed the mess that was once there orderly packing. She burst out laughing and spoke aloud. “Oh, stuff some clothes into a bag and call it a day. We’re going to Betazed, not the far reaches of the Gamma Quadrant. We can get stuff if needed.” Which of course was very practical but not at all how she normally would have responded. But she didn’t feel like being serious right now.

Lowering herself back beside him, she reached up and rested a dark hand on his cheek. Imzadi… she said fondly, just gazing into his dark eyes for a moment. Tell me Kaiylio has managed to keep this reception to a manageable number. After all, she had been to Dalera’s wedding and that had been no small affair. She hadn’t yet imagined what just a reception would mean but she kew she wasn’t going to get away with an intimate family affair.

I want to make that promise… but they are excited. I told them to keep it under 50… but between family friends and neighbors they wanted over 200. I am trying to keep it at a number where you can remember most of their names at least. Only son in a house of women means I didn’t get my vote in very often. Konral said as he snuggled up next to Ghubari as he kissed her neck softly. Regardless of how many show, I won’t leave you for one second my love.
