Daggum was drying himself off when he said “Well, they did say we needed to dress. So if you would please put those clothes of yours back on, I will do the same.” and he grinned wickedly. “The plus side is when we get to the room I get to tear them off you. Wanted to do that when we first got here, but I wasn’t quite sure how you would have reacted right then.” and he laughed and opened his locker, but kept his body turned so he could watch her take off her robe and dress.

“Oh shoot,” Viyara laughed. “I forgot.” With a very theatrical sigh she added, “Oh well, I better get dressed then.” So she, too, opened her locker while standing in such away that Daggum had a good look at her and vice versa. After slipping out of the bathrobe and tossing it onto a chair, she put her clothes back on. One item at a time. In a slow and teasing way. Once she was fully dressed again, minus her shoes which she held in her left hand, she looked with a raised eyebrow at Daggum and repeated her question. “Shall we?”

Daggum had stared at her with such intensity he put his t-shirt on inside-out. But at the moment, he didn’t really care. “Oh, yes. Absolutely. Shall we, my darling bride?” and he smiled and offered her his arm.

Viyara nodded and looped her arm through his.

As they walked out of the room and to the reception desk, Holsa stood waiting. “Mr and Mrs. Hammor.” she said and gave them a genuine smile. “It has been such a pleasure to have you at the spa. Thank you, and we sincerely hope you will come back and see us if you find yourself on the station again.” Daggum smiled back at her and said “No, no… thank you. You and your staff went above and beyond. And we very much appreciate your… considerations.”

Holsa beamed and said “Well you are most welcome, to be sure. Now, your room is ready. It is currently 1400 hours, and your dinner will arrive at 1900. Per your request, we have selected an array of Bajoran dishes, as you said that is your lovely wife’s preference. If you are… otherwise engaged, as we know space travel can make one weary, then simply press the Privacy button and the kitchen will keep your dinner ready for when you awake. Thank you again.” and she shook both of their hands. She then directed them behind the counter and through a door to a small hall with a turbolift at one end. “Your room is the top floor penthouse suite. I and the other girls insisted as you have been so very pleasant with us. Take care.” and she let the door close.

Daggum pressed the call button and the doors slid open. There were fifty five floors, and a single icon at the top that read ‘Penthouse Suit’. Daggum looked at Viyara and smiled “Here we go…” and he pressed the icon and the turbolift began moving. In a few moments, the lift stopped and the doors opened.

It was a bit of a shame that the lift moved so quickly, Viyara thought to herself. But the moment the doors opened in front of them and thoughts of making out in the turbolift were forgotten.

The room was truly massive. Brightly lit, the floor was marble with area rugs scattered all over. A dining area sat adjacent to a small but fully stocked bar. A lounge area with large, overstuffed furniture and a giant view screen invited them to sit. Behind the bar a door was closed that, presumably, led to the bedroom. But it was the wall between the view screen and the door that caught the most attention.

The room was obviously built on one the station spires. The windows separated the room from space, and the view overlooked the whole top of the station. Dozens and dozens of craft were moving, docking, undocking, and jumping into and out of warp in a silent ballet. Daggum stared for a moment, his arm unconsciously going around Viyara and drawing her close. “Now that is one hell of a view.” he said in quiet appreciation.

Viyara felt her mouth drop slightly as she looked around the room and then out of the windows. “You can say that again,” she muttered and rested her head against his shoulder. For several long moments she just stood there, enjoying the view. This was the kind of thing she had always dreamed of. Well, not the room itself, but in a way the view. Seeing so many ships coming and going. To her it spoke of vast amount of possibilities out there. Of freedom and of the possibility to be whoever one wanted to be. But it also reminded her of the days when she had been sitting at her window, looking up towards the stars and wishing she could fly away, disappear and never come back.

A wave of discomfort washed over her as the memories of those days came back. She felt her body tense up a little as her breathing became a bit shallower than usual. She tried to push them away, but after having shared so much already, more than she had ever shared before, she found herself unable to do so and that scared her.

Taking a deep breath, Viyara twisted out of their embrace and moved in front of Daggum. Raising to her tiptoes, she kissed him passionately, but briefly before reaching for his hands and pulling him towards the living room. “Shall we test if the furniture is as comfortable and sturdy as it looks like?” she asked with a lopsided grin while wiggling her eyebrows.

Daggum laughed and said “But we haven’t even looked in the bedroom!” but didn’t resist as she pulled him towards the living room. When they got close, he scooped her up off the floor and held her under her thighs so she could wrap her legs around his waist. He kissed her deeply.. passionately… and with no reservation or hesitation. As clothes began to cascade around the room, he had the forethought to say =/\= Computer, lights to ten percent. =/\= and soon their bodies were only illuminated by the array of lights of the traffic outside and the dim glow in the room. He laid her down on the coffee table and whispered “Let’s see if we can break this one first.” and he chuckled as they removed the last of the fabric barriers between them.

“Mhmm,” Viyara mumbled with her lips pressed against Daggum’s. Somewhere deep down inside her a small voice whispered that doing this partly to forget was not smart, but as always she shut that voice down and instead kissed Daggum even more passionately, hungrily even. After all, they both knew what they were doing.

It was an hour or so later that they lay on the rug in front of the sofa. Daggum’s breathing was finally returning to normal and he was staring the ceiling. The coffee table had been slid near the dining area, the dining table was on it’s side, and the ottoman was on top of one of the chairs. “Okay… we are going to have to check out the bed at some point. And you were right.” he said and looked around. “The furniture is really sturdy, isn’t it?”

The ‘Mr.’ of Mr. and Mrs. Hammor

“It is,” Viyara laughed while gasping a little for air. Rolling onto her stomach, she placed her chin on his shoulder and whispered, “I’m ready to check out the bed and the rest of the penthouse whenever you are.” She then gave his earlobe a light kiss before draping one arm across his broad chest and nestling close to him. Most of the time she wasn’t one to snuggle or spending the rest of the night with someone she had hooked up with. But nothing seemed to follow the norms when it came to Daggum. So she wasn’t really surprised that lying here curled up with him did feel good. And yet she still felt certain that she wanted nothing but a casual thing. Or maybe this was more a long the line of friends with benefits. Either way, no relationship. And that was good.
