The practice was quite exerting, however, Juvri had more energy to spend so she said, “Let’s keep working! If you want to, of course.” She’d spent all day with Viyara, and she didn’t want to keep her here longer than Viyara wanted to be here.

“Alright,” Viyara grinned and then added with raised eyebrows, “How about we put what I showed you so far to practice? First you attack me with punches and kicks and I block and then we switch.” She felt like Juvri was ready for it, especially since they wouldn’t really be sparring, but she wanted to give her the option.

“Okay,” Juvri said. It sounded like good practice, and it didn’t sound like a real match, just a few punches. If it were a real sparring session, she’d be a little more apprehensive. “I’m ready when you are!” She said.

“Awesome,” Viyara replied enthusiastically. “But before we start, we should put on the mandatory protective gear for Taekwondo. After all, I want you to use your full strength. But I have a feeling the medical staff won’t be happy with us if we arrive there all beaten up for our boarding eval.” She gave Juvri a wink and then sized her up for moment before telling the computer to create two Doboks and belts, two helmets, two pairs of gloves, foot pads and shin and arm guards, two Hogu (body protector) and two mouth guards.
After handing one stack to Juvri, Viyara took off her clothes without even a hint of hesitation. Once she was wearing nothing but her underwear and tank top, she she started to put on the Dobok and then the protective gear while making sure to show Juvri how to don the uniform and all.

Juvri was a little more… modest, hesitating before she stripped her clothes to the base layer, her underwear and her own tank top. Then, after watching Viyara’s demonstration, she quickly put on the protective gear Viyara had given her, making sure it was on correctly. “This is not very comfortable, is it?” she said, moving around experimentally.

“Not exactly, no,” Viyara laughed lightly. “But that is not the purpose of it. It’s to keep the doctors off our back.” She winked. Knowing only too well that most doctors were not pleased if one wandered into sickbay all beaten up. And while she usually didn’t care, she didn’t want to get Juvri into trouble. And she could tell that she was getting a bruise form her encounter with the rocks earlier. So some padding to make sure it wouldn’t get worse wasn’t a bad idea either.
“When you’re ready: Go,” Viyara said as she got into position.

Juvri smiled at that. She had never been in trouble for that, considering she’d never done much that would lead her to end up beaten up, but she could see how doctors might think it was a nuisance.
She got into position, sizing up Viyara and deciding how best to use what she’d just been taught before she moved towards the other woman and threw a punch, not holding back as Viyara had instructed.
