Michail paused and took in the entirety of the language, body and otherwise that was being directed at him. “A serious question that deserves a serious answer. My missions are on a need to know and the only thing I needed to know was that I was to give full disclosure and turn up at your door precisely when I did… the rest is speculation on my part, although I would like to point out that my missions have included not only cleaning up messes but also assisting those who are destined to do that themselves… in the future”.

With her eyes narrowed and her lips pursed, Viyara simply stared at Michail for several long moments while she tried to fully grasp what was going. Was he sent here because she was to work for the DTI at some point in the future? Who would even think that that might be a good idea? Or was he here to prevent something from happening? Prevent her from doing something? If that was the case, how could anything she might do have such an effect that it made the DTI notice her? This whole situation was crazy. Ridiculous, really. But try as she might, she couldn’t discard this situation as a bad joke. “I still don’t understand,” she eventually said, sounding rather frustrated.

“Welcome to the wonderful world of Temporal Investigations. You go from “I don’t understand” to temporal narcosis. Hopefully this intervention today means that you’re going to be instrumental in something that doesn’t involve time travel. Trust me, I’d spare you that if I could”. He ran his hands through his dark curly hair and sighed.

As quickly as her temper had boiled up, did it ebb down again. Viyara was still irritated and frustrated, but some of the fight seemed to leave her. Walking over to her small couch, she flopped down on it and then asked simply, “What do you want from me? What do you or the people who sent you expect me to do? I don’t like games. I want to know what’s going on. Straight forward and without further cryptic remarks.”

It was then that the chime sounded at Viyara’s door.

Outside, and still dressed in her climbing clothes, Ghubari waited patiently, though her curiosity was certainly piqued when she sensed two beings inside. Interesting.

And just as quickly Viyara felt her temper flare up again. “What on…” she cursed trough clenched teeth. What did everyone suddenly want from her? Though she had a feeling that this time it really was either the Captain or the Counsellor. For a moment she considered to just ignore them or maybe tell them to go away. But she had a feeling that neither would go over well if the person outside really was who she suspected. So instead she called “Enter” from where she was sitting on the couch. Her voice heavy with frustration and exhaustion.

The burst of rage caught Ghubari by surprise but she breathed through it and steadied herself. There were times being an empath was useful, because as in this one, some times you just needed a heads up about what you were walking into.

As the doors swished open in front of Ghubari, the Captain found herself looking into quarters that, for the most part, looked exactly the same as any other crew quarters and only a few items hinted at the fact that someone actually lived here. The sheets on her bed were of a deep purple colour with some sort of black floral print on them. A small pillow and a cosy looking blanket in similar shades of purple were draped on the small couch. A stack of PaDDs was sitting on the couch table and most prominent what seemed to be a small, but fully functional chemistry lab was set up on her small dinning table.

Sitting on the small couch was Viyara. No longer in her climbing gear, but instead she was now wearing a long-sleeved, oversized t-shirt in a dark shade of purple and black Yoga pants. While her expression was almost hostile, there was also a hint of weariness in both her expression and her body language. As her eyes fell on the Captain, she couldn’t help but sigh softly, wondering how this day could have gone so awry…

Her pale Amber eyes surveyed the room and its occupants keenly. But her gaze landed on Michail and she tilted her head s she took him in. “Fancy meeting you here of all places,” she said. He was definitely not someone she expected to have been here.

Michail sighed, “Well being that Viyara didn’t invite either of us I’m going to go on record and say that this meeting simply cannot be happenstance and Captain you will probably have guessed that I’m here in my official capacity”.

He then turned to Viyara, “Sorry if that sounded offensive,”
