In the Captain’s ready room a chine announced an message coming through from the Starbase.

Though she had just gotten back from her vacation, Ghubari was already restless being at base still and there was a lot to wrap her head around. But she was taking the one-day-at-a-time approach. Still, there was lots to do and keep tabs on with all the resupply and crew changes happening and she wanted to make sure they weren’t missing anything. The message drew her attention away from a rather notable report she was reading and she absentmindedly tapped the key to activate the message.

A young ensign had sent the message and was recorded sitting behind a rather nondescript wooden desk. “Captain, Admiral Anethamai would like you to know she’ll be arriving by shuttle mid afternoon to discuss arrangements made for the crew for some RandR. It seems your crew has been selected to trial a new facility that apparently will make Risa seem obsolete”.

An Admiral had to come here? To make R&R arrangements? Ghubari’s captain alert senses were tingling, but to the ensign she just nodded. “Thank you, Ensign. You can tell the Admiral we’ll be ready for her.” At least they had been given warning. Though she already knew the crew had been doing a lot of work getting the ship in perfect shape while she had been away, and this wasn’t a formal inspection, still, no captain liked being surprised by the brass and having them peer about your ship as if they wanted to find something wrong. Even if this Admiral was discussing R&R (since when did that warrant a whole discussion?) , she wasn’t taking no chances.
