Her long, dark fingers tapped on her desk and the corners of her mouth slowly pulled ever downwards. As she kept reading the message, her brows shot upwards and she peered at the screen. “Well then,” she muttered.

It was probably just as well that she received this message after she returned from her own vacation because otherwise she couldn’t guarantee how this might all go down. Correction. She always made her point very clearly, but the reception of that point was the variable she could never control.

=/\=Commander Hammor to the captain’s ready room,=/\= she paged in a steady even voice. Daggum might not know it yet but it was her ‘I’m going to keep a neutral tone in public’ voice.

“Enter,” Koraia called out, though she didn’t lift her head from the report she was reading at her desk.

Her ready room looked exactly as it had a couple weeks ago when they had first met, though Ghubari herself was perhaps a bit harder to read at first glance. “Have a seat,” she said simply.

Hammor nodded once and lowered his frame into a chair.

When she finally looked up, she took in Daggum with her pale amber eyes, looking rather unimpressed. “Care to hazard a guess at how many curse words were in the message I received from the Starbase?”

A smile tugged at the dark green lips, but he kept it in check. “Well, Captain… my record is thirty-seven. But I contest that because it didn’t take into account the number of references to my parentage or count the ones in non-Federation Standard.” he replied flatly. “But I will hazard a guess and say eleven.” he added, still professional. “If it’s more, than I owe the Dock Master an apology for underestimating his intellect and creativity.”
