Bracing an elbow on the table and resting the side of her face in her hand, Janna slowly ate at her pie, most the ice cream having been devoured, leaving creamy puddles amongst the pastry and apples. “Okay, just to play devil’s advocate here, where does it end? I mean, if you have to take something from a crew to benefit yours, what about the other crew? What about the consequences for them?”

Hammor chuckled. “We all know better than do that with critical needs. So we aren’t leaving a Sickbay in the lurch with someone needing a special piece of equipment. But other things? Oh, thats all fair game. An dthe consequence is that the losing vessel will simply have to wait is all. The other safety net is that if it is an emergency, well, emergency requisitions are fabricated and sent direct. No middle man or stops.”

Kingston nodded. “I doubt any of you would do anything maliciously. I guess I’m just aware that circumstances aren’t always ideal and you never know when a ship will get caught unawares. I mean, here we were sitting at base minding our own business after a rather difficult assignment and the next thing we all knew the Athena was flying through an anomaly and wound up in a different universe having to save two universes. So I’m just saying, perhaps as a friendly reminder that this ship is unlike others you’ve been on Daggum. We’re not any more special than the others, but we are frequently asked to do things others are not. You may or may not want to factor that into your strategy,” Janna said with a grin before scoping up the last bit of her pie.

Daggum leaned forward and smiled. “Well see the thing is… in that particular game?… I don’t lose. Keeping the ship up and running, making sure we have what we need… that’s my jam, as an old friend of mine used to say. And I am really good at making sure we get what we need when… or before… we need it. And I am quite aware of the nature of the Athena. Trust me… I’ve been making plans for us for weeks now. I may not catch everything, but my average is a heck of a lot better than most.” and he chuckled and winked.
