Well here’s a post a never thought I’d write. I thought I’d be one of those COs who was cemented to their captain’s chair! But best laid plans and all that.

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile and I believe it’s time for me to step down as CO of the Athena and give her into capable hands.

When I was given the Athena, I had only been in the club for 6 months. If it wasn’t the record for fastest CO promotion, it was close to it! lol. I was eager to jump in and I had a great ship to work with. Soon we all settled in together and made something really special. I love this ship dearly and I’m going to stop here before I start crying. Because yes, it’s emotional. I’ve been CO of this ship for 10.5 years and it means a great deal to me.

Miriam is acting CO as of this moment. I’m debating about staying on with Janna but I need a bit of time first to sort things out.

Thank you all for being so awesome. This is an award winning ship and you are an amazing crew. Thank you for all you do.

~Linds

I figure this is a good time to piggyback as well on this. Konral has been in love with his Rain for a long time, and I think it would be best to have him step out with his wife. With that, I will be retiring as well. Love you all and thank you for letting me but you’re Chief all these years.

~Steven Sigle

I’m both extremely honoured and slightly terrified to have been given this position. Thank you, Linds, for an awesome and learning-filled couple years as your XO. I can only hope to fill your shoes.

Miriam

Linds, I am so sorry to see you leave. But I am sure that even greater opportunities will come from the decision; and I look forward to your next amazing step. Thank you for having on board this wonderful ship.

James

I’m sorry to see you leave as well and I can understand why you are stepping down. Thank you for having me as part of your amazing crew and for all the wonderful writing we have been doing here and elsewhere in the club (where I’m looking forward to continue rping with you)!

~Silke

Linds, you’re an amazing Captain and an amazing friend. I can’t imagine Athena without you and I hope all is well… Wish you the best going forward. salutes

Life has its many twists and turns, but we all have our own path to forge. You gave me great memories and stories, a fact I will always be grateful for. Wherever your decisions take you, I respect and wish you the best! I do hope we write again one day, either with Janna on the Athena or in something else. It’s been a fun ride that will remain one of my favorites on the site. May your future be bright and may you prosper.

-Janice B.
