Her question wasn’t unusual, and normally it would have had the typical ‘Oh, I’m good. Just same old same old, you know?’. But now… here… with all that happened… Daggum’s dam broke a little.
His face scrunched up in a half-confused / half- emotionally drained look. =/\= You know, Faye… I really don’t know. And I also know I probably shouldn’t be saying any of this to you of all people but I am so strung out and confused and I don’t know what to do. I was kinda spending time with this one girl and she was adamant she didn’t want anything serious and that’s great because I didn’t want that… with her, anyway… and then she told me she lived me and I kinda freaked out and tried to explain that I didn’t feel like that for her and then I tripped the new XO in the Lounge and she fell down with her butt all up in the air and I was super embarrassed so the next day I went to her office to apologize and when I came through the door the crazy woman was standing on her desk so I got a face full of XO butt again and then she shocked herself on a light and I tried to stop her from falling and I ended up grabbing her ass and then she KISSED ME, FAYE and I totally lost it and tried to just get out of there with my job intact and… and… =/\= and he looked at the screen… at Faye’s face… and just sighed heavily.
Daggum knew Faye’s mind operated at an exceptional speed (sometimes to her detriment) so it wasn’t a stretch to think her mind was processing as quickly as he was speaking. Still, her brows rose and lower lip dropped slightly.

That statement filled her with warmth and she gave him a mischievous grin.=/\=Well, here I am. But should I be jealous all these other woman get to kiss you?=/\= The words slipped out before she really realized what they were and there was definitely no way to take them back. Nor did she want to. Heat coloured her cheeks.
Faye lifted a finger and went to say something, but instead she just laughed for a moment. =/\=I’m sorry you had such a rough week. I was thinking it was starting to sound as mixed up as mine have been and I definitely don’t recommend you trying to keep pace with me there,”=/\= she teased with an uncommonly flirty tone.
