Ghubari Koraia, ever the enigma, had struck again and she wasn’t even on board anymore. Janna was highly amused as she made her way through the ship to visit one new scientist the Captain had suggested could use a follow-up. She had also left Janna with a message to pass along and so she would do just that and see where things fell.

Arriving at Viyara’s quarters in the early evening (after checking she was there), Kingston rang the chime. She was still on duty and as such still in uniform.

On the other side of the door, Viyara was sitting cross-legged on the floor; dressed in black volleyball pants and a blood red tank top that left not only almost all of her Trill markings, but also the majority of her tattoos clearly visible. As she had done a lot since that dreadful holodeck incident, she was journalling; hoping to make sense of what was going on with her. When Janna pressed the chime, she almost jumped to her feet and quickly put the journal and fountain pen in the topmost drawer before walking over to the door. After a moment of hesitation during which she wondered who it might be this time, she opened the door.

Janna offered a smile. “Hey, I hope I’m not disturbing you, but might I come in?” Though their paths hadn’t crossed much since Viyara’s eval, she had mentally made a note to seek her out later anyway and was glad she had an excuse to now.

Viyara smiled back at Janna, though her smile wasn’t quite as bright and charming as the one’s she had given the other woman during her evaluation. “It’s okay and yeah, you can come in,” she replied and took a step back so that Janna could enter the room.

Kingston stepped in, her demeanour relaxed, at ease.

For the most part Viyara’s quarters looked exactly the same as any other crew quarters and only a few items hinted at the fact that someone actually lived here. There was a small pillow and a cosy looking blanket, both in a dark shade of purple, were draped on the small couch. A stack of PaDDs was sitting on the couch table and most prominent what seemed to be a small, but fully functional chemistry lab was set up on her small dinning table. Noticeably there were no photographs or the usual type of knick-knack most people seemed to collect over the course of their life.

Still standing in the middle of the room, Viyara asked evenly, “What brings you here Counsellor?” She wasn’t sure how she felt about Janna being here especially since she didn’t know why she came. Though she had a an idea why. But she didn’t want to be rude either.

Janna surveyed the room, taking her time with it, before she settled her gaze on Viyara. “Captain Koraia left me a message. About you. Any guesses what she might have said?” There were any ways to go about this, but Kingston knew, especially after learning what she had that this was not a straightforward situation. Sometimes those required a less straightforward approach.

Wrapping her arms subconsciously around her middle, Viyara looked at Janna for a moment before nodding. She had a very good idea what the Captain might have told her. She felt her heart suddenly beat very fast in her chest and it took her a couple of moments and deep breaths before she actually said anything. “My guess is that she told you about what happened in the holodeck and afterwards.” She wasn’t sure how she felt about that. On the one hand she was annoyed and disliked that yet another person now knew about that incident. Especially without her consent. At the same time she had to admit that it was nice that the Captain was apparently concerned about her and wanted to make sure that she was doing okay.
