OOC: This takes place at the same time as the two main sim threads in the lounge.

IC:
What was it with people being cryptic with her all the time lately?! First Michail now this Admiral. With her jaw clenched Viyara left the lounge and started walking down the corridor without a destination in mind. The last words of the Admiral still running through her mind over and over again: ‘The mind in and of itself can make a heaven out of hell and a hell out of heaven. This is something I know from my own personal experience. Those who make a heaven of hell must share their expertise, those who walk through hell must not take down roots there, they must keep moving, or else they miss heaven entirely. I know I’m speaking cryptically my dear and I know that you probably hate that but there is a purpose to it and all I can say at the moment is that by the time this shore leave is done you will understand this on a personal level.’

She didn’t even notice where her feet were carrying her, but eventually she found herself in the main science lab. A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips and she felt her body relax a little. Even though she wasn’t entirely sure where she and the CSO were at, this was a save haven of sorts. Looking around the room, she wondered what she wanted to do now that she was here. Nothing that would get her in trouble. She had enough of that already. So maybe just doing some reading.

At the sounds of someone’s approach, Scales lifted his feathery head and peered his reptilian eyes directly on the source. Nazeen. With a bobbing motion of its head, he acknowledged her presence. He crawled to the highest branch then chirped a greeting followed by a flicker of his tongue.

The monitor indicated he needed to be feed soon, but no junior officer had arrived to complete the task. He hoped some fruit or insects might come soon.

“Hey little one,” Viyara replied and felt a soft smile tug at her lips. “Are you hungry?” she asked rhetorically as she headed over to the replicator. She ordered a slightly smaller portion of fruit than he’d usually get and instead of walking to his terrarium, she walked over to her workstation and opened the cabinet underneath. From there she lifted a small container and then made her way over to scales. Once she had placed the small bowl inside, she lifted one corner of the box’s lid and managed to manoeuvre a few of the live crickets inside into Scales terrarium. “I hope you like them, they are a special gift for you,” she grinned.
