With so many changes it was easy for things to slip through the cracks. But one person who saw everything, Janna knew that they had to be harder. Even though she was in her duty uniform, she wasn’t here to do therapy (though Stark knew her just well enough to know she had her own ways that didn’t always mean sitting in an office).

Pressing the chime, the petite woman knew she was wanting to commiserate more than anything.

There was a slight thumping sound from within, followed by a brief moment of silence and then the door slid open to reveal Stark standing there. The quarters behind him were austere to the extreme containing only a work station and two oversized leather chairs, one of which had been nearly destroyed through scratching.

Stark stood to the side to allow Janna to enter, his eyes held questions.

She knew him just well enough to know that he was too well contained to let such an obvious sign be from actual emotions. If anything, Janna mused that it might be a warning more than anything, but she could be wrong. That was always a possibility.

“Not even a hello?” she said with a lopsided grin. “Don’t I warrant some hospitality?” Janna was entirely teasing and yet her grass green eyes held some intensity.

He snorted a short barking life, “I answered the door and stood aside so that you can enter, for me that’s as effusive as a hug and a kiss on each cheek. Hello, would seem a bit pedestrian after such a blatant show of affection don’t you think?” His eyes were mischievous as he led her in.

“Well, when you put it that way,” Kingston deadpanned as she entered his quarters fully.

Beelining for the not scratched up chair, the petite woman sank into the oversized chair which almost seemed to swallow her up. “You know, I’ve been trying to sum up recent events to people and I keep coming up short. Which is hilarious given I’m usually the one helping others find the words to describe their experiences. I’d ask if this was a normal phenomenon on the Athena but I’ve been here long enough to know better.”

Stark curled up in the other chair which after much time and abuse matched his form perfectly.

“So who counsels the counselor,” Stark smiled,

“It must be hellish looking at healing the long term ramifications of traveling through time, losing the whole ship minus a few key members, getting it back again through even more time travel, taking out the bad guy only to find that his mirror twin has hatched plots for your demise in the mirror universe and then getting sent there by the prophets to heal a rift that threatened to destroy both universes”. he paused for a minute his eyes a little wild, “It’s almost enough to make me contemplate becoming an alcoholic especially when you consider that I’m related to a baby on board that’s going to grow up and meet us in the future and apparently the past…” he paused again, “I think I have a headache, you were saying?”.
