The lights were at one-third and a trio of pillar candles were burning on a side table. Next to them, the standard grey sofa cradled the petite form of Janna Kingston, who felt like the last while had just been a runaway creature morphing into its own form and taking on a life all its own. A handmade quilt in dark blues, burgundies and soft greens was draped over her knees as she read a PADD. An unfinished mug of decaf coffee was sitting rather forlornly on her metal and glass coffee table.

Her quarters were her refuge though to date she had had no one visit her here. So visitors who were used to the clinician and now the head of the entire counselling department might be surprised how much effort she had put into her space given how little time she actually spent there.

Soft rugs in cream tones overlaid the standard grey carpet and were spread in places where you stood for any length of time or got up from a place. There was a desk in the work area that had a soft throw draped over the back of the task chair with trailing plants hanging down either side of the upper shelf of the desk, lit (during the day) by grow lights. A tall shelf between the work and living space held some knick knacks and photos: Her and her moms at her Academy graduation, her moms on one of their anniversaries, her and a couple friends from the Hypatia. The knick knacks were all small vases of some kinds. Clear glass, ceramic, hand painted porcelain. There didn’t seem to be a particular theme other than they were vessels to hold flowers and all look handmade.

Reading her PADD, Janna let herself get lost in the minutiae of Psychology journals, both fascinated by the research but also the calmness that surrounded her.

OOC: I know I haven’t quite completed the Nexus thread, but it will be wrapped up soon.

IC: Orvos was aware that the longer he let things go, the harder things would get in the future. As much as he hated that she endured so much at the hands of Kivon, Orvos knew he had to bring it up again and discern where to go from here on out.

After some time, the door chimed, alerting Janna of someone’s hope to enter.

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Janna’s head snapped to the door and a small frown appeared on her face. She wasn’t expecting anyone and it was possible that it was a patient who needed to talk to her urgently, but usually she got a call from the Counselling Suite if that was the case. Sitting up, the PADD coming to rest in her hand, Janna exhaled. “Come in.”

Whomever she was expecting, Orvos was not it. There had been nothing but fleeting encounters, often with others around and then there was the whole Mirror Universe thing and no time for them to talk. “Hi,” she said softly, not even sure how to gauge how she felt about everything that had gone down, or even him himself. He was a conundrum, a mystery, and yes, she could admit there was a small amount of anger. Anger towards a different Orvos that she had to remind herself was not the man before her now.

Orvos quietly entered with a head nod. He allowed the door to close behind him before briefly observing his surroundings. “How have you been? Didn’t get much of a chance to talk to you during our last mission. Missed that.”

-Lt. Commander Orvos Legen, CE

Her keen green eyes studied him. “It was… busy, for everyone,” Janna said quietly. She gestured to the couch. “Come on in and make yourself comfortable.” Their conversation might not be comfortable but they might as well be.

“As for how I’ve been, well… it’s been…” Janna shook her head and turned her gaze out the window. “I don’t know. I guess I’m a bit tired overall. Worn out, perhaps.”
