She nodded slowly. “I understand the Nexus,” Janna said, her hand still held out, palm up. It began to shake and for reasons she didn’t understand, she began to cry. It washed over her so quickly that she was taken aback. “I don’t… I don’t understand the orb. Why me? Why did I have to wield it. It made no sense but Guinan was so insistent about it.” Moisture crept over her cheeks, carving lines down to her jaw.

Her question was hard for Orvos to explain. He currently only had some details of what she went through. By all rights, he should have been the one to wield it, given his deep intricate knowledge of the Nexus. However, he recalled Janna stating that the other Orvos had decided to take on Kivon head on. No doubt that left just Stark and Janna to figure the rest out.

Orvos gently reached out to brush a tear from her face. She didn’t deserve to go through all she had. She’d been through enough on her own time before the Athena. And now she had to deal with Orvos and his extra curricular drama. It was this very reason that made Orvos never want to get close to anyone. Keeping himself away kept others safer. But he just couldn’t help himself. Despite his belief, he still fell into the trap of companionship, of friendship, of something more. He had only wanted to interact with her, know her story. And here he was, in her quarters, walking into a tender moment. He desired the best for her and he was sorry how the Kivon had messed with her.

OOC: I’ll let you express how she experiences his ‘deep desires’ as we spoke of in discord. I’m available if you have questions. :)

As his finger brushed her skin, warmth bloomed along its path, and Janna inhaled sharply. Like a fog clearing she was suddenly overcome by a desire for closeness and at the same time a distinct fear of it. A battle warring within… not her, but him. Such deep loneliness. Raising a shaky hand, there was no thought, just action as Janna rested her hand on the side of his face. She wanted to ask what was happening, and she would but at this moment she was drawn to him, compelled by what she could sense in him. There were deeper things, floating under the surface. Meeting his gaze her green eyes were wide, filled with a mix of awe and anxiety.

There was a part of Orvos that wanted to pull away, sensing the battle within growing stronger. But it didn’t feel like only his anymore, or was it? His feelings almost felt as though they were reflected back to him, but not in any intentional sort of way. He wanted to withdraw, but he stood his ground. The desire for closeness was growing in intensity, to explore what was happening.

He stood there, frozen unable to move from his predicament. He allowed his thumb to wipe one more path of moisture from her cheek before speaking softly. “What are you feeling?” Curiosity and perhaps longing kept him there.

HIs thumb once again left a trail of warmth down her cheek and it left her wanting more, even as it confused her. “Confused, intrigued. The psychologist part of me that sees things in scientific processes wants to gather more information to better understand what is happening here, but the other part of me is a bit afraid. I… something is happening to me right now Orvos and I don’t understand it. I’m not empathic but I can feel what you’re feeling, or rather the warring. To be close, and yet you want to also pull away.”
