Janna nodded. “That’s a reasonable conclusion. So now, we take a look at what that new normal looks like. Describe to me your baseline state lately.” She wasn’t going to brush his worries under the metaphorical rug, but if they could work through what Liam was dealing with on a step-by-step basis then maybe they could find a path forward he could accept.

Liam did his best to determine what a ‘normal’ day was. Too many variables changed the outcome and some routines were challenging to keep up. It didn’t help fixing habits were harder than he accounted for.

“I’ll give you the changes I’ve managed to keep consistent rather than go over the whole day. It changes based on physical activity and stress factors. Because of these, I’ve had to keep radiation doses on my person at all times.”

He licked his lips then continued.

“Shortly after waking, I jog in the warpcore for half an hour. I go to my quarters, prepare for duty, then stay in my office to work. Scales usually has escaped by now so he’ll sitting on my desk. I’ve tried many times to keep him out, but nothing has worked.”

Liam moved onto lunch time. “After several hours, I can feel the parasite stirring so I take a lunch break. Another dose of radiation and a brief check up, I return to work. Scales is put into his habitat and stays there. After everyone has left, I double check the clean, labs, and any thing else I had to put off. Most the time, I fall asleep in the office.”

During the retracing of his day, he never mentioned breakfast or dinner. Both meals slipped his mind and usually remembered when he needed an unexpected dose. However, the counselor might’ve assumed he did these things automatically. Over all, his life appeared rather boring. The only real change was that he was distancing himself from his officers to ensure their safety.

“Any questions?”

OOC: Small bump to put on the board again.

OOC: Thank you! I knew I was missing something in my catch-up.
IC:
“So, you’re not sleeping somewhere restful, not eating and not socializing in any meaningful way. If you were in my spot, would you declare that a suitable and healthy lifestyle?” Janna said.

“By normal standards, no. Most of it was born of habit before the parasite and got better before it fell down again. Oddly enough, I have not lost any weight.”

Liam seemed unbothered by the poor habits he held, but he at least acknowledged them.

“The main reason I even remember lunch is because of a young lady and it’s a highlight of my day I look forward to. Even if it ends with me getting a shot then being sent on my way. Most of my fencing students have been reassigned and few show much interest in the sport.”
