It took some time for Orvos to arrive to Shuttle Bay 1 where room had been made to bring aboard the shuttle Psion. It had taken at least as much time to move around some of the craft inside in order to make room, so Orvos had arrived just as the Psion was being brought in.

Orvos kept his distance allowing the personnel within the shuttle bay to do as they saw fit.

-Captain Orvos Legen, CO

Liam’s watchful eyes observed the ongoing in silence. Though calm on the outside, underneath the CSO remained alert. He was well experienced with things not being as they seemed since the last mission. The Athena had a habit of attracting such attention. It left the scientist baffled at the reasons or logic behind it. In the end, he simply accepted it to prevent madness.

-CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci.

Shock was also present, looking on as the Psion slowly entered shuttle bay. Shock was prepared for all kinds of eventualities. And he had a team of crewmen security officers with him, ready to engage if necessary.

“Captain, Mr Madison,” Shock greeted his commanding officer and colleague. “What do we know of the situation with the Psion so far?”

– Lt Shock (COS)

Codem smiled as the shuttle touched down in the shuttlebay of the Athena. “Well here we go. Phase 1 complete. Does everyone know the story?”

Meanwhile, those who would scan the shuttle would find it was returning that the source of the damage was an Ion Storm, or at least something that could copy it.

Liam turned his head to Shock, registering the COS’ question.

“I’ll only give the facts since there’s a lot of gaps in knowledge right now. At least until we get answers from the shuttle crew.”

Taking a small pause for a breath, Liam continued on.

“According to the crew that contacted us, the shuttle was attacked within the ion storm. Their ship, Montezuma, was last recorded to be in the Lion Mane Nebula. So far they haven’t answered our attempts to communicate with them. The Captain believes the oddness of the situation has warranted some precautions to be taken.” He couldn’t give Shock anymore information without piling on theories or false information.

The CSO glanced through the information the scans provided causing a crease in his brow. It was strange to claim an attack, yet only evidence appeared to be Ion Storm damage. Another thing that needed to be explains by the crew.

“There’s suppose to be a total of 5 occupants. 2 Humans, 2 Trill, and a Vulcan.”

-CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci.

“Thank you, Mr Madison,” said Shock, appreciative of the synopsis of the situation. “According to the data, there are thus five people on board, presumably adults. Life-signs registered? Moreover, they have not answered our hails. I agree that further precautions ought to be taken. I’d like to set up a round forcefield around the Psion, three metres diameter around it. Thus we will have protection should there be something amiss – as well as giving the passengers and pilot some leeway to exit the shuttle without bumping into the forcefield.”

Shock turned to the captain. “That is my recommendation, sir”, he said.

– Lt Shock (COS)

Orvos nodded. “Make it happen lieutenant.”

He then tapped his combadge. =/\=This is Captain Orvos Legen, we’re ready to received you. If you could step out of the shuttle perhaps? I’d hate to have to knock.”

Orvos waited to see how the occupants might respond.

-Captain Orvos Legen, CO

As the occupants on the shuttle were being addressed, Liam realized he had made a mistake.

In a quiet tone, he spoke to Shock. “I owe you an apology, I got my ships mixed up, the Montezuma was attacked. Not the shuttle, it was only damaged in the ion storm. Still, we don’t know much.””

-CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci.

“Thank you,” Shock replied out of politeness. “Your apology is unnecessary. I have not been hurt. Your correction is appreciated.”

“Well if they don’t reply we can get that egg cracked open anyway and find out what the state of them is,” Ros said quietly, having walked up behind the group. “Ion storm damage can be pretty nasty, lets hope they didn’t get the worst of it.”

Lt Cmdr Akirel, CE

“It would be prudent to make Sickbay aware of a possible intake,” Shock said, seemingly commenting without an intended audience. It was almost as if he was telling himself what to do. “I’ll assign some security crewmen to Sickbay too.”

Shock took up his PADD, and made some digital motions on the screen.

“It is done.” he said.

– Lt Shock (COS)

With no response, Orvos looked to the chief engineer. “Let’s go ahead and crack her open, shall we?” he said, using Akirel’s own words for effect.

-Captain Orvos Legen, CO

Shock and his five enlisted security personnel stood ready, their phasers set on stun.

“Oh I would love to, Captain,” Ros stepped forward and pulled out his own tricorder, scanning as he walked forward to the panel on the side of the shuttle that would operate the manual release on the hatch.

Lt Cmdr Akirel, CE

As Ros reached the hatch, it swung open.

Alera stepped out first, followed by Codem, Izzin, Peter, and S’Dan taking up the rear. “Apologies for the delay, captain. We were actually securing the phasers we had grabbed when fleeing the Montezuma.”

“Please identify yourselves,” said Shock, while scanning the embarking passenger with this tricorder.

– Lt Shock (COS)

Orvos nodded understandingly as he allowed his mind to sense the state of these newcomers. His security chief was quick and on point. Names helped, though he may have stated such in a different way.

Nevertheless, he gave the party a warm smile as he listened for their respective names.

-Captain Orvos Legen, CO

Codem spoke up this time, gesturing to each person in turn as he spoke. “My name is Codem Luhn, the other Trill is Izzin Tigox.” Neither Trill was a host, nor were they particularly well known. “Alera Graves, Peter Rivers, and S’Dan.” Codem finished with the only Vulcan of the group. Alera was the sole female of the group, and the only one in red, while Codem and S’Dan were in the yellow/gold of ops, and Rivers and Izzin were in blue.
