Faye folded her arms on the desktop and leaned in. “In typical fashion, it was highly mixed. The lounging about and adventuring was exactly as advertised, and we wrapped up the whole thing with a bit of immersion therapy and facing trauma. You know, the usual,” she said with slightly raised brows. “I will say that there was at least one moment where I wasn’t sure if my new husband would abstain from murder. Really would have put a damper on our life as newlyweds.”

=/\= Well, I won’t say that would have surprised me. =/\= Cochrane said with a grin. =/\= But I am happy to hear neither of you are in lock-up. I’ll have to tell the senior staff at our next meeting. We had a pool going on what would happen. =/\= and he chuckled. =/\= So to what do I owe the pleasure of the call, then? =/\=

Cochrane, CO, USS Manhattan

Her mind went instantly back to that meeting within her first hour on the ship and the stark reminder that she was somewhere new. She chewed on her lower lip and her face shifted with a flux of emotion. “Missing you, and the Manhattan,” she said softly, her eyes casting downwards for a moment before returning to gaze at Alex.

“I, um, did my debriefing about replicating my project on the Manhattan here on the Athena and it went okay. But the security chief and I had a bit of a verbal tussle. Oh did he rub me the wrong way, constantly challenging me and it just felt a bit too much like Luke. Though I only realized that after the meeting, of course. He and I will work it out, so I’m not worried about that. But the captain made a joking comment about dysfunctional family and… it hurt. He wouldn’t understand why, but every part of me wanted to scream that they weren’t me family. Not yet. And certainly it feels worse knowing that my own is scattered doing who knows what.” She hadn’t even told Alex about the cryptic message Micah had sent her- she couldn’t, not without risking people’s safety. “So I’ve been a bit overwhelmed. I even yelled at Tess!” Faye shook her head. “But Dag is here and keeping me grounded, and Tess, and I’ve got my new therapist who is a quiet little spitfire who won’t let me get away with sh!T,” she added, allowing a tiny smirk to grace her face.
