Khabal walked into sick bay and looked around. He knew it was custom to go through a medical check up to make sure nothing was missed by decontamination.

Spotting an empty seat, he sat. He was towards the edge of the seat with his feet under him.

Bump

Ben wasn’t planning on seeing any patients today, trying to catch up with his paperwork was enough for now but a strange new scent entering his sickbay distracted him from his work. He stood up from behind his desk and stuck his head out the door, looking for this stranger. After a moment eyes locked on a stranger sitting near the entrance to the medical bay. He cocked his head curiously, grabbed his coat and walked towards the alien “Can I help you?” He asked, putting on his polite work smile.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Khabal stood up.

He was 5‘7” and slender. Totally hairless and pale of skin. His dark eyes shimmered strangely in the light. His dark blue outfit was close fitting but loose enough to not restrict Khabal’s movements.

“I understand that it’s custom to be medically scanned when boarding a ship so here I am. I am Khabal.” he said with a slight bow.

  • Khabal

Benjamin blinked at the strange alien’s reply then blinked again as if to emphasize the first blink “Well it has less to do with custom and more to do with regulations” He said then took a half step back. He raised a hand, indicating a nearby biobed “If you’ll please follow me and have a seat” He turned on his heels but before he could walk more than a meter he paused “Ah yes, I am Doctor Benjamin Grey, Chief Medical Officer” He returned the bow.

Khabal nodded and went to the biobed.

“Energy array bio scanners?” he asked the doctor after looking over the displays.

  • Khabal

Benjamin again blinked in mild surprise at the question before answering “Uhm yes, The biobed does take readings but most Medical Officers prefer to take individual scans during boarding examinations with this” He moved his coat and grabbed the tricorder from its holster “The focused scanner allows for more detailed reports, Sitting on the beds is technically unnecessary but it’s traditional.” He removed the wand “I’m not familiar with your species , is it possible for me to access previous medical records of yours or a species baseline to compare it to?”

“I think my base genetics were Human, but I don’t know what the meld masters used to engineer me.” Khabal replied.

Only years of experience and training allowed for Benjamin only to react with a slightly raised curious eyebrow “I see” It wasn’t just the implied Genetic Engineering, it was that it was of a Human, there was something inherently wrong with that thought.

The scan’s showed Khabal was a product of extensive genetic engineering, nanotech, and cybernetics. He had high density muscle fibers laced with synthetics that were in a state of constant tension. His bones laced with a mineral very similar to tritanium making them extremely strong and the joints had extended ranges of movement. There were devices melded to his nervous system who’s functions weren’t readily apparent. His senses were augmented.

Khabal was well built for the purpose he was meant to serve. High efficiency, high endurance, high durability.

Scan’s also showed an extensive amount of past wounds long healed, a few that would have been fatal to most.

  • Khabal

Ben had been moving his jaw from left to right as each wave of scans brought forth more and more disturbing news, he finally noticed what he’d been doing and stopped “Well I think it’s safe to say you are…” He hesitated “Healthy” He didn’t add For a lack of better words despite his internal inclination towards it “I’ll probably have to spend some time analyzing this but it doesn’t look like anything I should be concerned with” Outside of the moral implications of ‘Meld Masters’ He didn’t add “Do you have any questions?” He asked turning on his polite smile.

“As long as my design limits aren’t exceeded, I’m content thank you.” Khabal said with a friendly smile, “What should I do next? Customs and such as I’ve been on only two ships of this faction before?”

  • Khabal

“Faction” Ben mused as he closed his canner “I believe that your next step depends on your purpose, if you came for repairs then I’d suggest checking for the time table, I’m a little surprised you weren’t given an escort” He didn’t say if he meant a Security or just someone to show him around “Were you assigned quarters?” He asked

Dr. Grey -CMO

“Not yet. Your Marishka is going to introduce me to your Captain soon.” Khabal replied, “And assigned quarters? That’s not necessary as I can sleep in my ship.”

  • Khabal

Benjamin shrugged “It is considered polite to offer” He smiled a sheepish smile “Well then I suggest finding Marishka for your next move.” He nodded to his own statement “Yeah, meeting the Captain should be your next step I think”

Dr. Grey - CMO

Khabal nodded.

“Thank you for your time. May your life be long and uneventful.”

  • Khabal

Benjamin nodded, trying to hide a slight smile “And you aswell Mr. Khabal”
