Khabal nodded and approached the ensign.
“I’m recent to the ship. I was told by NE Patrick Bateman that I should see the counselor.” Khabal said, his expression open and friendly.

“Are you crew or a visitor, and do we have you on file?” the blond asked, smiling warmly. Since he didn’t say he was here for an appointment or a boarding eval, it seemed to be a different situation altogether.

Khabal smiled warmly.
“I’m a visitor. I came aboard seeking aid with repairs and resupply. Not sure how long it will take. I think I might have gotten off on the wrong foot with the Captain.” he said,

The ensign smiled wider. “That can be awkward for sure. You are not required to visit a member of our counselling team, but if you would like to speak to someone I can see who is available.”

Khabal smiled warmly.
“What is the job of a counselor?” he asked.
Khabal had an idea of what they did but he wanted to make sure.
- Khabal
“Our team is responsible for the mental and emotional health of the crew. They conduct evaluations when someone is starting a new assignment here on the Athena and they provide support and guidance as people deal with the myriad of stressors life can toss at a person,” Cherry said.

“A mind healer!” Khabal exclaimed.
“In a way, yes,” Ensign Blossom said.
“A noble profession.” he said more quietly with a smile.
“Your kind is rare on the archology ship I come from. It’s like seeing a tesseract intersecting a two dimensional plane. Are your kind also so rare among your faction?”
- Khabal
Cherry parsed the words trying to see if she could make some determinations from them. “Do you mean mind healers?” she asked before tapping the mark on her forehead. “Or ones like me?”

Khabal looked at her quizzically for a moment before his eyes lit with a recalled memory.
“My apologies. I sometimes forget that other factions do not do as the Spiral Nomads. In my society we are what we do. I am Quarm in both what I am and what I do. My meaning was mind healers.”
- Khabal
Cherry nodded. “I myself am not a mind healer. My role is to provide the administrative support so they can focus more on working with people.”
“Did you want to speak with someone here? It also doesn’t have to be today. You can book a time later and come back if that is better for you. There is usually someone available for walk-ins though. The team keeps a rotating schedule.”
~Cherry Blossom
Khabal shook his head gently.
“I appreciate your offer but I think I’m okay.” he said as he stood, “My apologies if I wasted your time.”
- Khabal
She smiled. “Not at all. We are here if you should ever need us.”

Kahbal gave a friendly bow and left the counselor’s office.
