One evaluation done, one more to go.

The chief helmsman for the Athena strolled into the counselor’s offices. Physicals were pretty easy. It was the psych evaluations that required a bit more work. He had done well enough the first time. He wasn’t overly concerned about a re-evaluation.

He stepped forward to the rather well known risan secretary. “Here to be seen for an annual re-evaluation,” he said with a grin.

Cherry’s long blond hair was piled atop her head today with curled tendrils floating down. She flashed Mattias a smile, her lips a bright pink today. “Are you now?” she said, matching his grin. She tapped a few keys. “You saw Counsellor Ki’ann for your boarding eval, but he is in with a patient. Did you have an appointment or are you trying to get on the staff’s good side by coming in early?”

~Cherry Blossom, Receptionist/Admin Assistant

Meadows lightly laughed. “No, I don’t have an appointment. If I was trying to get on the staff’s good side, would this work?” He asked with a curious grin, enjoying the play with Cherry.

“Well, they generally dislike having to chase down members of the crew, though I’ve seen some pretty inventive methods to encouraging people to choose to drop by,” Cherry said with a chuckle.

“Have a seat Lieutenant, and someone will be with you soon,” Blossom said.

The Risian rose from the desk and moved to the red door, pressing the chime. It slid open and she stepped in, returning a few moments later.

Inside the office, Kingston brought up Meadows’ file and the results of the boarding eval, skimming it to get a sense of anything that might need follow-up.

Meadows’ file would show that his previous review happened with little to note. The man was mostly private, putting on a slight front when it came touching on home more personal details such as family and friends. Work seemed to keep him pre-occupied. And apparently in his spare time he utilized the holodeck for practice piloting different types of vehicles. Piloting wasn’t just a job for him.

Janna nodded to herself and moved out of her office. She spied her next session and gave Meadows a smile as she approached. “Lieutenant Meadows? I’m Janna Kingston.”

She gestured with her head. “Come, let’s go chat.”

Stepping through the red door, Janna’s office was a modest space rather fitting the petite woman. She didn’t go to great lengths to decorate, but it was definitely more than the standard grey furniture and carpet. On the wall above the couch was an image of an ocean scene that could be almost anywhere and the standard grey slim arm chairs had been replaced with softer larger armchairs in a dark blue that looked inviting to curl up into. On top of the standard carpet, the sitting area was covered in a plush rug in different shades of blues that matched the ocean in the photo. On the other side of the room where she mostly worked, there was a tall leafy plant near her desk and a single silver photo frame on the corner of the desk where she could easily see it when she worked at the computer terminal. Overall, the place was warm but practical and uncluttered- much like Janna.

“Are you a food and or beverage person during a chat, or would you prefer without?” Janna asked, gesturing to the sitting area for him to sit.
