George stepped out of the turbolift, adjusting his uniform. He did that often. He walked down the hallway, sighing to himself trying to loosen up, but it wasn’t working.

He walked up to the door to the CSO’s office and pressed the chime. This was as good a time as any to stop being so stressed, he thought. Unluckily for him that was a hard thing for him to do. He adjusted his uniform again and sighed.

OOC: Do apologize for missing this.
-Janice B.

IC: Liam frowned at the door chime. His eyes skirted to the data padd, realizing he had lost track of time. Dismissing his reports to the screen’s side, he turned to the waiting officer.

“Come in and have a seat.”

As officer Haroon came in, a debate surfaced in Liam’s thoughts. He should’ve feed LB first, but it was too late now. Thankfully the symbiotic creature had become more patient with time. He got down to business.

“Welcome to the Athena.”

-CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci.

“Thank you. I’m glad to be here.” He responded. He took a moment to look around. He also adjusted his uniform once more and very quietly sighed.

The room looked rather clean and professional by Starfleet standards. Across a few table tops were sparse decorations. A picture of him, his brother, and two other individuals. The man looked familiar and known as Joseph Madison. A few well watered plants added life to the otherwise boring room.

Instinctively, Liam rose from his seat and casually walked to the replicator.

“Would you like something to drink while we get started?”

Once the man answered, he brought over the items and began.

“Why did you join Starfleet and where do you hope to take your career?” Liam’s question might’ve seen odd, but he wanted to know what drove his officers. Their dreams, wants, and goals helped him determine where to place them. Some officers used Starfleet as a stepping stone for other dreams in their lives.

OOC: Sorry! Sometimes I forget to check up.

IC:

“I wanted to study stars, in a literal sense, and Starfleet seemed the best way to do that. They routinely go out and study them and I get good resources, both in the form of equipment and people to work with. As I saw it, it was unlikely that I would get those anywhere else.”
