The world had changed in just a few short hours. Their ship was gone. But the people who made up the ship remained and they needed her help so she concentrated on them instead of the fire ball in the sky that had once been their home. She helped men find places for their wounded crewmates and soothed their fears and sent them back out to do their jobs with water and protein and carb rations to keep them going. After coming in from outside and seeing Stark being threatened by whatever it was that had take down their ship she prayed he was still alive, that all of the command staff were still alive. When Horace brought in a little boy just out of toddlerhood with pointed ears that looked half vulcan unconcious she guided them to the nearest blanket to lay him on.
“How long,” Cara asked briksly of the man who had brought in the child. He looked too pale against his long dark hair and not responding to stimulus. Cara ran a quicl scan for bleeding and brain damage.
The ensign looked wideeyed, “El’rik has been out just a few minutes, he seemed fine and then he just collapsed.” Cara nodded not taking her attention away from the young boy but made a mental note about the boy’s name. His vitals and breathing were starting to slow and Cara jumped into action giving him mouth to mouth and hypos of stimilants. When the boy still wasn’t breathing she reached for her kit and did an grabbed a tube and a knife and with the help of a nurse did an emergency surgery. She made the incesion and the placed the tube carefully and blood began to spill into the pan.
“He’s breathing, ” Cara said with a smile and then she looked at the nearest assistant. “I need to find out who his parents are and if they made it,” Cara said because she may have saved he boys life but he was in no way out of the woods. Cara looked at Janna with a shrug.
“Do you recognize him?” Cara asked as she bandaged up around the incision.

Janna shook her head. “No, but I can watch after him until we find out who is looking after him. After all, I’m not going anywhere,” Janna said with tiny smirk.

~Janna Kingston, ACNS

Cara gently touched Janna’s healty shoulder in thanks. “I’ll try not to be too long,” she replied as she stood up to go to her next patient she looked at Janna again briefly, “thank you,” she added because she couldn’t be everywhere at once and she wanted to help as many people as possible.

Meanwhile Benjamin helped realign an unfortunate crewmans shoulder after having taken a nasty tumble. If this goes on we’re going to need a bigger triage center.

Dr Grey - CMO

There was a commotion at the edge of the triage area as a Starfleet ensign argued with a security officer who was blocking the path further in. There was a badly bleeding body hanging limply over the young ensign’s broad shoulders and whoever it was, was not Starfleet.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)

The commotion was starting to bother the Chief Medical Officer so he moved from the people he was assisting ordering an orderly to take his place. He grabbed a medkit and jogged over to the scene “What’s going on?” He asked the pair as he eyed the bleeding being.

CMO

The ensign in question spun around on the CMO with a hysterical wild look in his eye. “This idiot is bringing the enemy into the middle of our most vulnerable!”. As the ensign spoke it was obvious that someone near and dear to him was lying on the ground nearby being treated.

The security officer was equally as vehement. “This woman needs medical attention, we have no idea if she’s the enemy or not and even if she is, what of it?”.

The woman in question was wearing a simple grey jumpsuit, silvery and sleek looking. She seemed to bear no weapons and was bleeding from multiple contusions to the head and torso.

“I found her at the edge of the camp trying to crawl towards us sir” The security officer stated with an angry look at the ensign.

Cara kept an on her patient, but the boy seemed to be stable now at least. When she heard the commotion she looked to where the CMO was and took a breath.
“Watch him,” Cara said to Heather who she knew would come and get her if the boy went crtical again and then walked over.
“Do you need assistance sir,” Cara asked as they brought the body in.

Benjamin rolled his eyes, grabbed the protesting ensign’s shoulder and looked him in the eye “You stand down, we are Starfleet Officers, not savages. This person needs our help and we shall give it be it within our power” He let go of the shoulder gently and moved to the injured person “We’ll take her from here, to assist with securing the perimeter, we have enough guards at the Triage center” He carefully moved the injured woman over his shoulder “Doctor Daniels, help me with her.” He used his left side to carry the woman whilst holding her arm over his shoulder with his right hand.

Dr - Grey -CMO

The ensign harrumphed a bit but obediently went back to watchfully stand over a young woman being treated for superficial burns. The security officer nodded at the Doctor with gratitude and took off back to the eastern side of the camp at a dead run.

Cara grabbed the injured woman’s other arm and helped Dr. Grey carry the woman over to an emergency bed and propped her head up with towel since pillows were in shot supply. Once they had her secure and more comfortable Cara ran a tricorder over her the woman while she searched for any obvious wounds that needed to be stiched up. She put on frest pair of gloves before checking breathing and pulse with her free hand. Cara took a breath to calm herself while waiting for further orders.
“She’s looks human sir, but we’ll see what the scan says.”

Liam continued to walk into the Central Triage Station’s direction. His feet dragged across the planet’s surface while he navigated the best path, careful not to become a victim among the landscape. Gradually the station came into view causing his head to rise a little higher and absorb the view. Maybe he would be more useful trying to help the CMO rather than getting tugged along in some plot that was way over his head.

His feet continued to haul themselves inch by inch before he spotted the station coming into eyesight. There seemed to be confrontation near the entrance as two officers bickered, their loud voices easily heard when Liam closed in. The CMO and another doctor quickly situated themselves underneath the injured woman before pulling her inside. Cautiously, the CSO approached the station. He was fully aware he might be stopped at the entrance, but he wore the standard STF uniform so he doubted there would be any issues.

Tricorder scans of the woman showed that she was indeed human but there were some anomalies as well. The tricorder wasn’t quite able to ascertain what the anomalies were other than her brain waves were unusual and she had a secondary heart that currently wasn’t pumping.

At the same time the first casualties of the battle started to come in. The first victim had been hit hard in the shoulder, which at first glance shouldn’t have been too difficult to fix. However the flesh around the wound was becoming darker and blackness was spreading along the veins as well. The young woman was obviously in great pain.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)

Benjamin frowned at the tricorder readings of the woman, he wasn’t particularly fond of mysteries especially given the current environment. Before he had a chance to comment he saw the first of the injured arriving “Care, injuries” He said simply and gestured to the arriving shoulder injury. He looked back at the strange woman, a secondary heart could be either a redundancy or a necessity. He opened his medical pack and grabbed a vial of Chloromide and locked it into his hypospray and set the standard dosage of 18ml and administered the drug.

Dr. Grey CMO

When the antiseptic was administered the woman’s eyes fluttered briefly, and she spoke one word in a rasping voice. “Merydith”.

Cara nodded, “Yes sir,” she replied and then grabbed her medkit and made her way over to the causlities. She motioned for Heather and formed a team of nurses and doctors that followed her to help the injured. When Cara saw the blackness of the woman’s wound she fought hard not to react as she helped the woman in agonizing pain get on to a bed made of blankets.
“I’m Dr. Cara Daniels. I’m going to take care of you, can you tell me your name,” she asked calmly as a distraction as she gave the woman a hyspsray for pain and then scanned her wounded shoulder quickly. The wound wasn’t the most pressing matter, that blackness in the veins worried the doctor more. She had to get rid of whatever had infected the wound before she could reginerate the tissue anyway.

The scan came back quickly and in capitals coloured in red to show their importance. “Necrotic Poison”. Something in the weapon she had been shot with had infected her blood with a self replicating necrotic poison that was heading straight to the woman’s heart.
OOC repeat after me “Hard Return” when posting, sigh.

Cara smiled at her paitent, “Merydith, a nice name,” she said gently as she searched her files to make sure the woman wasn’t allergic to anything. She filled the hypospray with the stongest antibiotic she had in her medkit in the strongest dose she dared and gave it to the woman. If that didn’t work she would have to amputate that arm. She scanned her again to see if there was any change.

Crew had told Adam that the CSO had headed in this direction. Adam hoped that the injury was none to grievous if the man was injured. Adam strode into the Central Triage area, there was more than one item he needed to take care of here at the moment.

“Lieutenant Madison?” Adam called out looking for the Chief Science Officer. First things first, Adam did not want to interrupt the doctors at work. They could always tell him if they needed something but interrupting to find out if they did bothered Adam. “I have need of you and your team if you are not injured”

Liam’s eyes sought usefulness or something he could influence. Everyone was already locked into their roles, assisting the injured or lost. A nurse was struggling with hauling a patient over to a seat where they could recover. Instinctively, he assisted to avoid doing nothing. He didn’t react to the soft thanks uttered. On hearing the XO’s voice, Liam’s head turned to the direction. His expression seemed indifferent to his surroundings or the fact the XO was there.

“I’m coming,” Liam commented in a quiet tone. Slowly, he forced himself upright then moved toward the android.

The woman was not responding to the treatment and the darkness continued to spread albeit slower than before. As the good doctor and Cara worked on her something black rubbed off on their clothes from her hair. It was black dye, underneath a single lock of hair showed it’s true nature, the colour purple.

“Merydith” she nodded in affirmation then groaning in pain she spoke again “Get Meridyth”. There was a subtle difference in that way she spoke the names.

Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)

Cara looked at the purple strand a moment in confusion and then leaned down to hear what the woman was saying. It sounded as if there was another woman out there. She looked at Dr. Grey and back to the woman as she gave her more pain medication. Cara ran another scan to match for DNA and species to make sure she what she was dealing with.
“Who is Meridyth? Was she with your group,” Cara asked . When the woman looked in pain agan she took her hand, “we have rescue teams all around, don’t worry we’ll find her,” Cara assured the woman not wanting the woman to be any more anxious than she already was. Cara then turned and looked to Dr. Grey, if this other woman could help then maybe she should go find her before it’s too late.
“What do you want me to do sir, medication isn’t working, but if we wait much longer to take that arm she’ll die. I think we need to find this Meridyth woman I have a feeling it’s important,” Cara asked awaiting her orders.

Ensign Cara Daniels-Doctor

Others were coming in with similar wounds, even those with a scratch from one of the purple beams of the enemy were starting to feel the effects of the necrotic poison. People were being stoic but the smell of fear was in the air along with the acrid stench of rotting flesh.

The DNA scan on the woman found no on file records of a match. The eyes of the woman looked up imploringly at Cara as she struggled to speak, “Meridyth, twins…” she slumped back again unconscious.

“Laser scalpel, we need to start removing the dying flesh before it contanimates the rest of her body, keep her under as I start cutting” He quickly prepared himself for surgery, if this worked he’d have a working procedure for the rest of the crew.

Dr. Grey CMO

Karina wandered into the triage camp and asked around till she found the Doc. With a small dried blood smear on her forehead over a small cut, now sealed by dirt and blood and hair, she took an offered container of water as an Ensign walked by and found the doctor cleaning up. “The Captain has taken several to see to some mission. I was sent here. What can I do?” She handed him a towel and then the water, certain he hadn’t had any in some time, either. A smile lighting her lips as she finished, “Since I’m pretty sure offering to cover you while you get some rest is probably out of the question, huh?” She smiled softly at him and waited to be directed to how to help best.

Ensign Karina Niles
Doctor

“Lieuetentand Madison, you and your team are tasked with studying the Gaurdian itself while we can. Dr. Grey prepare for more wounded we are under attack, I am headed there now.” adam stated as he turned to walk on. There was nothing more that he could here wait, “Merideth is the purple haired lady near the Gaurdian.

OOC: I’ll move my next reply to the right thread with Liam arriving. Also, sorry for Liam being bitter but it should get better soon. I hope.

IC: Liam’s mouth corner twitched, but he refrained from commenting. While the task’s motivation was given clearly, the purpose or task’s details were still pretty vague. He wasn’t happy about that. At this point, his desire to feel useful gnawed at him. As much as he wanted to point out he had not been very useful so far, he couldn’t disobey an order. Even in this confusing mess.

“I’m sure this will end well, just like the last attempt to help,” Liam let his opinion slip out freely, following the XO to the location.

He was sure Officer Jones was going to be among the first to arrive. He couldn’t say the same about Joseph, his mind concerned for his nephew’s well-being. Joseph hadn’t been among the injured, but he also hadn’t been found. He hoped his relative was safe and not caught in the ship’s explosion.
