As the connection broke and his mind became solely his own once more, the Vulcan sank to his knees and bent his face to the deck plates. Silent sobs wracked his body as he lost all control and wept into his hands. Partial relief mixed and mingled with the guilt and sorrow he still felt traces of inside himself. It was several long moments before he could begin to try and compose himself. A pang of utter shame shot through him for losing himself thus on the bridge, and in front of others.

-Va’rek, Eng

While she waited for the info to come in and be disseminated, she held out a hand to Va’rek. She reached out and genty brushed his mind , a reminder that thought the meld was over, they were still open to each other to a degree, though it fade would fade fairly quickly. Or so she assumed. She hadn’t ever done a mind meld with a Vulcan before, so she didn’t know fully what to expect. You will be okay, she told the engineer, her certainty a product of experience.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

Barclay scanned the area, “The shuttle is back in the bay, Cyrano is back under control and is sitting dead in the water nearby your somewhat scorched but seemingly ok warp core.” Barclay clapped his hands slightly and grinned from ear to ear Enterprise is suggesting that they accompany us back to Risa, we have an orb to reinstall”.

He felt the Captain’s empathic touch and heard her in his mind. Finally, he controlled his breathing and began to compose himself. It took a long moment, but he finally got to his feet, albeit shakily at first. Steadying himself on a nearby console, Va’rek looked up at Ghubari. His voice was rough around the edges, but steady. “With your permission, Captain, I will go and help Lieutenant Legen reinitialize the Warp Core.”

-Va’rek, Eng

“By all means. Get that core back in and going. We need to be out of here asap,” Koraia replied.

R’han made the trip from the shuttle-bay to the bridge in a fairly efficient manner despite the ‘trip’ he seemed none the worse for wear. He gave each bridge staff a look over. They seemed to be more effected than he, which was not uncommon. R’han rarely was emotionally effected by anything.

R’han

Ghubari acknowledged her tactical officer with a nod of her head as Ensign Wright stepped back from the station. She moved back to the centre chair and activated the comm. =/\=Bridge to all Departments. Status Report.=/\=

“R’han, what happened down there?” Ghubari called over her shoulder as she pivoted on the ball of her foot to face him.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

R’han raised an eyebrow, “There were numerous creatures who resembled the mythical beasts of the underworld. They were the minions of the kidnappers, who attempted to abscond with the baby.”

Ghubari’s ridged brow furrow more deeply. “Well then, sounds like you were having about as much fun as we were,” she said dryly.

“We pursued and ultimately recovered the baby. I also believe we terminated one of the kidnappers. Although I have some doubt as nothing is guaranteed without a body.”

“Hmmm, I don’t disagree. We’ll just have to be on guard for any more people who want to get in or way.”

Just then a communique came in from the Cyrano.

=/\=Lt. Legen to Athena, the Cyrano has the warp core intact. Ideally it would be nice to put it back aboard, being that you aren’t going anywhere without it. Having an engineering team ready would be good, and I have some crew aboard as well that need to get back aboard.=/\=

-Lt. Orvos Legen, CE

Ghubari couldn’t help a weary smile. =/\=Engineering is ready for you. We need to get back to Risa ASAP, so by all means make haste, Lieutenant.=/\=

At about the same time a message was sent to R’han. A program he had set in motion had born fruit as was now recording that there were two identical life signs aboard. Two Liam Madisons… one in Transporter Room One, and another leaving the Main Shuttle Bay.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

=/\= Sickbay 2 here. All patients are stable. =/\=

There was a momentary pause.

=/\= What’s… the status… of Meri…? =/\=

Dr. Lemann (crosspost)

=/\=She is safe. She’ll be returned to her mother as soon as the rest of the crew is back to the ship. Expect them soon,=/\= Ghubari replied.

R’han

=^=Madison here, after we managed to eject the warp core Kurok went down. Dr. Grey is here attending to him. =^=

–CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci

=/\=Good to know,=/\= Ghubari said. =/\=The away team is returning to the ship and then we’ll be getting the core back in and getting underway. =/\=

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

The little blinking light on R’han’s console started to become more insistent. One Madison was still in Transporter Room One, the second one was on his way to the Bridge.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

“Hmmm,” R’han stared at the screen. He activated internal sensors and scanned the two Madison’s one had to be from their universe the other… from the other universes tended to oscillate at the universal constant of that universe… if one knew what to scan from the process wasn’t that difficult.

Luka and her guests arrived on the bridge. “Okay,” she stepped over to Ghubari. “This is a messy situation. Here are our doubles though,” she gestured. “What is the status of, well, everything? I missed some details from inside the Shuttle.”

Luka, XO

Koraia looked over at her first officer and gave a slightly amused, if tired look. Messy was not the word she would have chosen. Ghubari looked over Ghubari and had to take a deep breath. It had been inevitable, but still, it was… weird. But Luka’s question gave her something to focus on. “Parce was controlling the ship’s computer using a infiltrating program. He was trying to force one catastrophic situation or another, as evidenced by our ejection of the warp core. You can imagine how much the prospect of staying here thrilled me,” she said dryly. “We, uh, Lieutenant Va’rek and I, managed to telepathically track Parce’s location and distract him long enough to take action. We talk more about that later,” she added, feeling a little under the microscope so to speak with their guests present.

Merri looked at Barclay, Barclay looked at Ghubari as Ghubari looked hard at Merri, Barclay nodded slightly and Ghubari nodded back before addressing the Captain.

“Here to help” was all she said, it was all she needed to say, Luka nodded to the Captain in acknowledgment of the sentiment.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

“Depends on the help, I guess, now doesn’t it?” Ghubari said. She had no idea what her counterpart in this universe was like at all, though they clearly were on their side. Still, she would take nothing for granted and her slight distrust was rather evident.

“Captain,” R’han gestured towards his tactical screen alerting the Captain to the double Madisions.

R’han

Koraia turned and felt a deep tiredness in her she hadn’t felt for awhile. Or had it ever gone away? Maybe it had just been hiding?

Luka stepped over to the Tactical station and observed the Maddison situation. Her ears twitched, eyes narrowing. “Remind me, on which side of this conflict is Mirror Maddison?” She asked, glancing around.”

  • Luka

Ghubari visibly started, “He was being experimented on at the Rura Penthe station, for all intents and purposes he’s gone mad. He got some kind of radiation thing going on where he can turn you into atoms, if we hadn’t stuffed him in a cryo-chamber he would have killed us all!”

Sensors showed that he was in the turbolift and about to arrive…

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

“Great, and now he’s on my ship. I’m assuming here to kill us all? Or just you?” Koraia said darkly to the Mirror Universe iterations.

Luka still had her phasers from earlier… Just in case. She was near the turbolift already, so she slammed har hand against the emergency stop. “Computer! Halt turbolift and lock it down. Voice print authorization, Commander Lukagu. Place a security field around the occupant of the turbolift.”

Luka, XO

R’han went to bridge security locker and removed three phasers tossing one to the Captain, XO and keeping one for himself.

R’han

Ghubari easily caught the phaser and readied herself. “You know, getting back to Risa is proving to be a bit more of a challenge than expected. If you’re here to help, by all means, do so,” she told, well, herself.

Fl. Captain Koraia, CO

Ghubari looked at her counterpart, “The first thing you’re NOT going to do is shoot him. Not unless you want to power him up…”

Before she could say anything else the turbolift door opened and Liam took one step inside hands raised in surrender. A cultured voice spoke calmly.

“I come in peace, please allow me to explain”.

Junior Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist

Ooc: um… Did you read my post....?
- Miriam

OOC Nope, somehow managed to miss it completely, apologies but let’s carry on from here if you don’t mind. Ian

When the Computer completely ignored her command to stop the Tubolift, Luka struggled to hide how pissed off she was about it. It seemed each time she did something in an attempt to help the situation, it had no tangible effect, or it made things worse. At least the security field still went up, as a shimmering blue wall of forcefield was erected around the entrance to the turbolift, surrounding the intruder.
