When you had done the seemingly impossible, what was left? It was the question swimming around in Ghubari’s brain as she assessed their Mirror contingent. A quick shared glance with her counterpart was enough to know that yes, they needed to do this. Though, to be honest, Ghubari hadn’t given a huge amount her thought about the Mirror version of herself aside from the quick rundown about what her story was (or at least the more obvious part of it) and how it would affect their mission. But this daughter of a diplomat intrigued her. Their stories were entirely different, their upbringings like day and night. And yet, she understood that there were tiny threads that connected them and resonated with each other.

Picking a quiet spot to sit, Ghubari folded her arms across her legs and pondered.

OOC: At the end of this, should we also do a chat with Sisko?

OOC Absolutely, I was saving that for the journey back through the wormhole :-)

Ghubari detached herself from the group she had been talking to and came and sat cross-legged on the ground facing her mirror image. “Hell of a day,” her wry smile was part contentment part exhaustion.

Ghubari snorted. “When aren’t they?” And it was an entirely valid question given that she couldn’t actively recall a recent day where something hadn’t been intense or high stakes. It was all blurring into long span of time that felt like she had been traipsing along the edge of a cliff. At any moment she could fall but somehow the Ancestors were keeping her upright and moving forward. But towards what? What message was she missing right now? Would Mshuri even be able to guide her with that?

“So what now for you?” Koraia asked this woman whose upbringing was so different to hers.

With a slight eye roll Ghubari commented, ‘I have a bit of explaining to do with my father, he’s not going to be happy that Daddy’s girl has been moonlighting with Memory Omega as a freelance operative and he’s going to be even less impressed when I tell him my intentions with Julien.” She looked up with eyes like flint, “It’s time he admitted that he’s been trying to control me to keep his little secret”.

Julien. That had been an unexpected little reveal earlier, but of course on her side he was nothing more than a friend.

Eyes wide she shook her head ruefully, “I hardly know you but because you have my face I instinctively trust you, strange.”

“If you can’t trust yourself, who can you?” Ghubari said with a smirk. “But I understand it. We’re too much alike, even though we are so very different. Would you be surprised that I only just met my father a few years ago for the first time. In my universe, it was my mother who raised me back at her home on Earth.”
