“There could be additional information on that probe, after we make certain it won’t go boom or carries a biological weapon.” Rinker offered in what he hoped was a helpful suggestion.

Rinker

Kelly looked at Rinker and raised one eyebrow. “Are you suggesting we bring it on board the ship?” The more she thought about it the more the idea was not half bad. “Okay get down there and help Jacen crack it open. You do have a medical degree correct? Since Ryley is working on the human you can work on the probe to make sure there are no biological threats contained within it. Oh and find Ian and take him while you are at it. That man seems to learn languages by osmosis.”

“I do.” He pointed to himself. He wondered if he kept his mouth shut would he be looking a ta potential bomb face to face with little more than powered ions to protect him. He tilted his head and headed towards the turbolift.

=/\=Mr. Drayke, we are about to bring an alien probe on the ship that might go boom. Get down to the hangar bay and erect a force field strong enough to withstand a nuclear blast if needed. We just got the ship painted and I am not interested in having to go for a touch-up,=/\= Kelly said clicking her comm badge off.

=/\= You gotta be kidding, ma’am you aren’t sending me a bomb… right?=/\= Jacen replied a hint of worry and bewilderment in his voice.

“They never get the color matched right,” she said offhand to the XO “So found anything we can use to figure out why a few hundred-year-old probe is now off our port bow,” she asked Rellan.

Captain Kelly Shultz

“Yes, Commander, do worry about the paint.”

“Logs… and lots of them,” Relann remarked over her shoulder. “I figured if what I found was an update, I should be able to find previous entries, unless they were destroyed,” she said as she brought up the command logs. She’d get to the others, but she wanted to be methodical. “I think it would be good to see what our counterparts on that ship thought about their mission and whatever happened on it.”

Rinker reached the turbo lift and headed down to the shuttlebay.

The logs began to take on some semblance of order in chaose as the computer catalogued, organized and divided the files. With the clearances applied there was agoing to be quite a bitof raw data to peruse and explore. The only pieces that seemed missing were from the update and anything that had happened beyond that point. Perhaps the probe, tenatively identified as a class 1 diplomatic communications/emergency communications probe from the Momentum’s Era held more data. That remained to be seen, in the shuttlebay where it wasto be examined once brought on board.

Kelly turned to look at Rellan. “Do you want the bomb or the body. I was planning on going to meet our new friend but you are the telepath” she said to her XO. “The ship appears to not be in any immediate danger and that probe and or new guest seem to be the best ways for us to figure out what is going on.”

“Agreed. I’ll get someone to sift through the info here,” the XO replied. “But first…”-Relann tapped a few keys-“I’m going to send the crew files I can access down. It might be helpful if we can ID the person.” She sent the files to a folder in her part of the system that she could access elsewhere.

Relann activated the comm. =/\=Bridge to Security. Have someone report to Sickbay. We’ve brought an unknown injured person on board and need someone on standby.=/\=

Then she switched gears. =/\=Fell to Rand. I have a massive amount of info that needs shifting through related to the probe we’ve encountered and the USS Momentum. Command crew logs, ship’s logs, the works. We need to know where this probe came from and why. I’m sending you everything we’ve got. You can do it wherever you are or come up to the bridge your choice. I’ll be in Sickbay with a person found in the probe. If you find anything, let me or the captain know right away.=/\=

“Mr Nash you have the conn. Don’t blow up my ship. You hear the chief. These things are a pain in the but to repaint,” Kelly said heading towards the turbo. She and Rellan could decide who was going where on their way down.

Captain Kelly Shultz

Drayke, CE

Moving with Kelly, Relann stepped into the turbolift and eyed her commanding officer. “So, I’ll go to Sickbay and see our guest. I’m hoping my empathy will be enough. If my touch telepathy is needed, well, today is going to get even more interesting for everyone,” she said wryly.

Fell-Drayke, XO

Nodding briefly, Nash moved from the Tactical station to the command chair and sat down, bringing up the ship displays on the armchair beside him. He would have preferred somebody from Security who knew weapons to be involved personally, if it was a bomb, but he wasnt sure it was at all. “Continue Scans” he said to the remaining crew, “let’s not get blind by forgetting to watch what’s out there.”

Lt Cmdr Nash, Tactical

The NE’s that had taken station, nodded to Nash as they continued to make the scans of the area. They seemed a little on edge, it was one of those moments in Starfleet, more unknowns than knowns. It was why many ventured into the deep dark, it was also why many eventually went home early.

At the Executives request the information was transferred to her personal folders, and access shifted of the primary package to the Intelligence section. There was quite a bit of information to go through, now that they had the USS Momentums Logs, Crew Manifest, Orders, personal Logs, and files of the Crew.

The NEs watched as the Captain and the Executive Officer exited the bridge, the Probe had been beamed aboard as requested. The Life sign was in Sickbay, and still nothing was really known about what was going on with the Star System that had appeared in the distance.

=^= Ryley to bridge. The guys alive though barely. He seems to be in a chemically induced state and whole despite the fact his clothes make it look like he’s taken a hell of a beating. however based on the computer findings the chemical keeping him under isn’t of the same time as that probe. Also and more of an FYI since it’s the medicine that concerns me the computer also IDed him as the Captain of the USS Momentum. We are running a panel on the unknown agents in the scans but he’s More or less clean. I’m going to try and wake him unless you have any objections…=^=

=/\=Ryley, my only objections is that the XO should be on her way to you, don’t wake him until she arrives. =/\= Nash closed off the comm line and returned to watching the readouts.

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

The current status after the probe had beamed aboard, and the Command staff had filtered off on their assignments was quiet. It was that unease quiet that could unnerve, there was a shoe waiting to be dropped, the Tactical Officer could almost feel it in his blood. Something more was coming, but what and from where?
