Fell gave him a lopsided grin, amused at his eagerness. He was positively vibrating with it and it would be good to see he handled himself under the pressure of a watchful gaze. “Computer, reset simulation and add elements for two protective covers.”

There was a chirp. “Simulation updated. Begin when ready.”

“Alright Ensign,” Relann said to Frank, ” do you want to cover ground or aerial?” she asked. It was easier for one person to take the lower half of the field, while the other covered the upper. They also had to make sure to stay out of Phil’s way, which meant not only paying attention to whatever might come flying their way in the form of an attack, but also pay attention to Phil and his movements.

“I’ll take the high ground Commander.” Frank replied.

“Alright then,” Relann said. “Everyone prepare,” she said, crouching to one knee, using it to steady her elbow as she readied her compression rifle. “Computer, begin simulation.”

Phil fired his phaser almost instinctively at the first target he saw. His beam seared close above Gallagher’s head hitting a target that appeared directly behind the ensign…

“Nice shot,” Relann said as she pivoted on the ball of foot to track a low moving target. In this multi-person set-up, there were going to be not only multiple targets, but they could come from any direction on top of moments where the computer would instruct Phil to deal with a patient and leave Relann and Frank to cover him.

Tracking the target, she let off a shot and clipped the edge, making it spin before it disappeared. Not a clean shot, but it was still good.

Fell-Drayke, XO

“Not too shabby, yourself,” Phil replied. After a moment, a ‘casualty’ appeared for Phil to tend to. He darted towards it keeping low and then crouched low next to it. He was now vulnerable and entirely dependant on his fleet colleagues for cover. His rifle was laid at his side and he kept glancing up for targets that the fleet officers may not have seen…
