IC: “We have seconds left before That hits us” Nash indicated the image on screen. “It’s huge, we can’t outrun it and we can’t go to warp. Power is being drained as fast as we can put it into the systems.”

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

“Helmful reverse and Drayke give us all power to the rear thrusters,” Kelly commanded.

“I am working to compensate that, if we can get dampening fields up in the areas being drained it may slow it down, the issue is we need energy to get those fields up… kind of a catch 22.” shouted Jacen.

Drayke, CE

One of the turbolift doors began to inch its way open, and through the slight crack, one could see fingertips gripping onto the deck, and slightly above that a tuft of tousled brown hair.

“A little help here please!!!” Came the strained voice of the CSO over the din.

Waving his hand in the lifts direction, the Relief Bridge Officer who had been at tactical before Nash got there ran to the door and, gripped the sides and helped the CSO to open the doors.

-Tyler Michael Wells, CSO

“Thanks,” Tyler grunted, climbing his way out of the turbolift shaft. It had stopped a little way below the door, and he’d had to climb up the rest of the way. The front of his uniform was soiled and dirty, and there were cuts and scrapes along his hands.

Standing, SEAI approached the helmsman, “I have heard the saying, when life gives you lemons, burn life’s house down with said lemons. I don’t know why humans use that as a saying for thinking outside of the box, but nonetheless I believe that we should start exploring other options. Is there any way we can survive being hit by that thing? Barring that, do we have anything we can use as a temporary push?”

Lt. SEAI (CNS)

If the shields were at full strength and if the inside of the anomaly was not as dangerous as the outside there was a 20% chance they could transition into the effect. Of course that doesn’t mean they would have enough power to make it back out.

The micro burst transmission came again from within the anomaly, but instead of stopping the moment it was complete, it started repeating as if to try to force the Atlantis to listen.

GM

“Comms clear up that signal. Send a hail,” Kelly ordered.

Nash looked at his console and the incoming transmission, flicking it onto speakers as he did so without waiting for the Captains orders. There wasn’t time. “We have a repeating signal from within the anomaly,” he told them, “I’m going to put it through the universal translator and see if it recognizes anything.”

“Can we dump all remaining power into shields at the last moment, try to let the wave pass us and hope a gravity shear doesn’t tear us apart?” He said to Drayke, “we aren’t escaping this.”

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

There was a good chance that plan would work. The computer projected a 29% chance that the ship would have only moderate structural and a few dozen casualties - of course the other 71% would be a that the ship and crew would be total loss.

Into the din and chaos Ryley’s voice yelled over the comm, =^=Sickbay to bridge. If you guys are trying to dammed well pull us apart and injure half the crew you’re going about it the right way! What the hell is happening!?=^=

Tyler made his way over to the main science station, looking at the strange readings that were coming in. Not that there was much that he could do about their present situation.

The communication was gibberish until the translator figured out that the communication was at 10 times normal speed. =^=Cut power and inverse the polarity of your shields… Damn fools why aren’t you listening. .... it’s too late now… =^= Out of the anomaly came a bluish green beam that reached out towards the Atlantis. =^=I guess you’re coming with me.=^=

“Mr. Drayke get me power to my ship,” Kelly said feeling a sickening feeling in her stomach. Her crew was on this doing all they could but right now thier best did not seem like it was enough.

“I have a bad feeling about this.” Jacen said, the message just coming in made him wonder what next.

“What the hell?” Tyler muttered aloud, to no one in particular. It looked like there would be more questions before they found answers.

-Tyler Michael Wells, CSO

As another shudder rocked the ship, the bridge consoles dimmed slightly before snapping back to full functionality.

=^= Bridge - Electrical fire! Decks 7 & 8, DC teams dispatched, emergency force fields in place, fire suppression systems activated. =^=

Hitting her badge, SEAI found herself stating, =/\=Attention medical teams, prepare to receive wounded from decks 7 and 8. Prepare to transport those trapped in the section or unable to move to safety. =/\=

Ensign Keene - Engineering

Since Jacen was on the bridge already, Relann took a couple extra minutes to Sowyn and make sure she was safe before she attempted to make her way to the bridge. By then though, things had clearly shifted dramatically. Getting an update from a panel (as much as she could), Relann at least understood a little of their situation. =/\=Fell to Bridge. I’m trying to make my way up there, but encountering difficulties. Going to head for Engineering instead.=/\= She figured if it was that much of a problem, then she’d aim for one of their other main centres. At least then she’d be somewhere where she could gather info and lend the support she needed. She had no doubt Kelly had plenty of people up there at this point, unless of course everyone else had gotten stuck too. If that was the case, well, this night was going to get even more interesting.

The blue green beam looped around the ship a moment before the wave would have overtaken them and suddenly the ship was relatively silent. The beam was some sort of combination tractor beam/shield that held the Atlantis firmly in its grasp as it transitioned through the surface of the gravitation ellipse. Once the vessel was within the quiet confines of the anomaly the sensors came back on and a small, somewhere around the size of a four - eight person luxury cruiser hovered a few meters before them, a tiny bird fluttering before a gazelle.

GM

“Mr. Nash did we just get hijacked by a Prius,” Kelly sat up a bit straighter. The ship in front of her looked to be like a family shuttle out to take the kids to Wally World and not an assault cruiser capable of taking down a mythology class ship.

Looking at the ship, SEAI cocked an eyebrow before addressing the Captain, “Do I even want to ask what happened?”

LT. SEAI (CNS)

Looking out the viewport, Nash moved to check that weapons and shields were still functional and moved to reinforce the shields as much as he could. “I have Torpedo’s loaded, Captain. As to what the heck just dragged us in here without exploding, I can’t say exactly. It seemed like a tractor beam that reinforced our shields.”

A call came in from Engineering, the distinctive drawl of Ensign Keene offering a report.

=^=Bridge - Damage report, We’ve got structural damage across decks 6-10 with multiple overloaded conduits and blown gel packs across all systems....... =^=

There was a pause followed by a sharp intake of breath.

=^=....... Um..... Bridge..... we have a, uh, visitor in main engineering. He, errr, It recommends shutting down the Warp Drive as it may cause further damage at this time. =^=

“Mr. Mardusk get a team to engineering,” Kelly said looking at the readouts filling her PaDD. “Mr. Drayke re-route all control from main engineering to the bridge,” Kelly snapped out the order.

Jacen scowled as he looked a the counsel. “Captain I am going to reroute all Enginering controls to bridge, I will monitor from here and see what I can do for us. Warp Core is going to shut down sending energy to force fields to keep us intact.”

Mardusk scowled and said “Already had one there, Captain. He didn’t go through the doors, that’s for damn sure.”

“How did he get on the ship?” Nash said, and out of instinct drew his Phaser and checked the setting.

“A Beam weapon,” He shook his head. “How quaint.”

“I think the question we need to worry about first is how to get him off the ship,” Kelly said in a frustrated tone. Everyone on her staff had performed their jobs without error however sometimes that still meant you came up with the short end of stick.

Ensign Keene - Engineering

A disembodied face, that seemed like a stone golem appeared in front of the main view screen. “The … ensign seemed unwilling to comply with my very sound advice, so I deactivated your warp drive. It is what you needed to survive, you’re welcome.” The head rotated back and forth for a moment.

“You are the Federation Starship Atlantis, your primary authority figure is Captain Kelly Shultz. Isn’t she supposed to be here? Perhaps I will find her.” the face started to fade away.

GM

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

“I’m Captain Kelly Shultz. Mind tell me who the hell you are and why metaphorically your Ford Pinto decided to rear-end us? It’s obvious you dont have State Farm because right now you are not being a good neighbor,” she responded standing up and meeting the gaze on the view screen. Kelly was taunting him. Part of her was just pissed the Atlantis had been shanghaied in the middle of the night. The other part was at least if the face was talking to her, her crew could work on putting out the literal fires in every department.

Captain Kelly Shultz

Mardusk’s hand tapped on the console, and less than twenty seconds later two Security officers stepped onto the bridge, taking up position on either side of the turbolift door.

Mardusk, CoS

The face stopped fading away and reformed when she spoke… “Ford Pinto??” He paused then a realization came across his face, “If my ship is a Ford Pinto then you are still barefoot and walking.” He shook his head, “This is why I never stop in Federation space, such misplaced confidence. As to who I am, according to my analysis of your records the most accurate name you can call me is Wayne Gretzky or The Rock.”

“If you are Wayne Gretzky then you should be able to tell me who won the Stanley Cup in 2018 because if you can’t then I can definitely smell what the Rock is cooking and it a pile of bull crap,” Kelly shot back confident of her early twenty-first century WWF folklore.

The face tilted his head as he processed the question. “Washington Capitals in five games. Although I don’t see the relevance, I never said I was Wayne Gretzky… all I said was it was one of the two most accurate names to call me.”

“And, I didn’t rear end you. You pulled a graviton ellipse out of subspace with your power systems. A graviton ellipse I was using to travel through subspace to explore the universe more quickly than standard warp travel.” He looked at her. “After YOU interrupted my trip, I, very neighborly, saved your ship from getting smashed by the aforementioned graviton ellipse. Now I have to get you out of this anomaly before it drags you so far away from Federation space that you can never get back. But if my services are unwelcome I could just leave., I’m sure you’ll figure it out eventually now that you are relatively safe within the ellipse.”

Wayne Gretzky or The Rock
GM

“Woah, Woah, Woah,” Kelly said raising a finger at the face before her. “You were using the graviton ellipse to travel. The graviton ellipse that almost blew out my engine in that thing,” she pointed at the face’s spacecraft. “You’re braver than I thought.”

“Size isn’t everything Captain.”

Kelly knew the basics of graviton ellipses. She was not an engineer however and had no idea if they could get out of this without the alien’s voice. Kelly let a fast side glance drift in Jacen’s direction before she let it settle back on the alien. If Jacen was able to get out of this he would say so. Until then Kelly would see what the alien could do. Cautiously but she would listen. “So Rocky Gretsky are you going to be a good neighbor and get us out of here no not.”

Captian Kelly Shultz

Ian walked over to Kelly whispering in her ear “You may want to try and be a little bit more charming; diplomacy isn’t your thing and I don’t know what starting a fight with him will do to our ship” Ian said his voice low with an awkward smile as he stepped backwards. Kelly was always speak her mind first but as chief diplomatic officer of the ship he felt it was best to try and remind her they were in fact in Starfleet and not the Wild West.

Bordeaux, Yeomin CDO

“I’m not starting a fight,” she said giving him a slightly annoyed look. “And even if I am being a bit…less diplomatic.... the all powerful OZ there should understand that at 0300 hours without coffee when my ship is being attacked I am bound to be a tad snippy,” she said in a low voice. Looking at Ian, Kelly held a calming breath for a second and then let it out. Ian might be a happy go lucky big kid 90% of the time but 100% of the time when he was on duty he was 100% on duty.

“Okay fine I will remember my Diplo 101 course even though I took it when they were still passing out chisels and hammers to take notes on stone tablets.” Not missing a beat she turned and faced the face again.

“Okay Rock,” she used the only name he had given her. “So if you were planning on getting out of this how would you do it?”

“Hmm,” The disembodied face frowned. “My ship can just leave at anytime, we can take the subspace shear… your craft is less sturdy. So, I have to get the ellipse to drop out of subspace again - but this time in a safe area. Problem is they don’t like dropping out without having a reason like a spaceship or a star-base, but when that happens then they run them down and kill them. It’s like fishing for sharks with people, and you happen to like the people, not people you don’t like.”

GM

“So you are saying we are going to need a bigger boat,” Kelly said looking at the face throwing back a classic line from an archaic movie. “The problem is I left my mythology class ship at home so we are just going to have to be creative in getting them to drop out of subspace again. Jacen,” she called out to her chief engineer. “Any chance we can fire up the warp core for a few second to chum the waters for an ellipse?”

Captian Kelly Shultz

There was no way of telling where they were if the just warped out of the ellipse and they would be opening a subspace bubble within a object in subspace. Which was all kinds of science experiment dangerous. Ignoring those two factors, there was no evidence to suggest they could withstand the subspace shear of leaving the ellipse - although inversing the shield polarity might increase the change of survival.

The Head paused again as if trying to place the comment. The chuckled, “Heh, funny.”

Mardusk sighed a bit. Mumbling something about Casper-the-Not-So-Friendly-ghost, he made sure that all sections were accounted for and that all areas were secure. Well, as much as they could be against disembodied floating heads.

Mardusk, CoS

The head looked off for a moment. “I’m detecting three Aflian ships coming into range. It might be close enough to slow down the ellipse bur far enough not to get swallowed alive. Fortunately for all of us, were still in this galaxy, its only a fifty thousand light years from Federation Space.” The head bobbed up and down happily as if this were good news.

“When the ellipse comes out of subspace, or slows down enough. I’m going to pop us both out.”

Wayne the Rock Gretzky.
GM

Next to Kelly Ian was wanting to aid her as much as he could. It was his job to make her look good and keep her tongue in check. He could himself be very flippant by nature but he also knew when to sweet talk others. Leaning to her again he began to whisper, “You may want to thank them… or at the very least smile a bit more when you talk next. Show cleavage if you need to just don’t piss them off. I don’t think we can survive this if you anger them Kel.”

Drayke, CE

“Thank them for pulling us out of bed and blowing up half my ship,” she said in a hushed tone to Ian. Her voice showed Kelly was not in a mood to be the charming hostess. “He is going to see me angry if he did anything to stop the supply of coffee from leaving the replicator and entering my body,” she shot back before turning to face the face again. It was then she thought about what Ian said and got an idea.

“Thank you Mr. Gretzsky for your....assistance,” she said feeling annoyed at having to play nice. It was a floating head said- she said situation about how they got into this conundrum but getting her crew and ship safely out of this mess was a priority. “When we are popped from the elipse why don’t you come over for a quick cup of coffee. That is if your assistance hasn’t blown every replicator panel we have.” Kelly knew she should have held back the last part but like all good country songs stated: you could hijack her ship, burn her bible, kidnap her dog, steal her husband but taking her coffee was the part where she brought out the shotgun.

“See I went to charm school,” she said with a smile but through gritted teeth in a volume only Ian would hear.

Tyler tried using their sensors to confirm what their friend had told them. The conversation between the guest and the Captain was quite baffling to him, since when did things become such a circus around here? The situation in whole was beginning to give him a headache, to which he let out a soft audible sigh.

-Tyler Michael Wells, CSO

The sensors had some ability to penetrate the outer layer of the ellipse, even as drained as the ship was in regard to power. Wells could determin that they were in subspace and moving much faster than standard warp speeds. But there were no ships that the Atlantis could detect.

GM

“Well… this is new.” Jacen said as he looked at the reports for the ship. They needed to stabilize soon but he glanced at the details the sensors had just giving to Wells. This certainly seemed fascinating.

Drayke, CE

“Care to elaborate Drakye,” she said as she took her seat and stared out the viewport.
