Tyler smiled at Relann and then leaned down towards Sowyn. “I hope it’s something interesting at least.” He gave her a wink. Then he held out the orchid flower to her. “I brought this for you. I grew it myself.”
Sowyn’s eyes lit up. “Oh!! Thank you,” she said softly, grinning as she accepted the flower, twirling it slightly in her brown fingers. She then began to inspect the edges and surfaces of the flower, deeply intrigued by it.
Then turning to Relann he handed her the small basket of boja fruits. “These are you you. I kept them growing rather nicely.”

Wrapping her hands around them, Relann beamed and then leaned in to plant a friendly kiss on Tyler’s cheek. “This is wonderful, thank you. I have a feeling we’re going to have to do something special with them.”
She gestured to the sitting area. “Come on in and make yourself comfortable. Can I get you something to drink? We’ve got whatever synth stuff we can order from the replicator, but I also have some regular wine Anita and Jerome sent over as well.”

“Some wine would be wonderful,” Tyler said, taking a seat. He looked around. “And where is Jacen tonight? Working the late shift?”

“Yeah, he’s supposed to him in a little while, but who knows,” Relann said with a laugh as she opened a bottle of cabernet sauvignon and poured a glass for each other them.
She handed one to Tyler. “We’re lucky we see each other at all sometimes. But that’s the juggle we have to do as a department head and first officer.”
