Standing just outside the doors to Sickbay, Jessica took a deep breath. She had just arrived on the Atlantis, her first duty station following her medical training and then her training at Starfleet Academy. The last few years had been a drastic change to her previous life of helping to care for her older brothers, but strangely, being a doctor on a Starfleet ship didn’t feel that innately different. It would be easy to be offended by the CMO’s demeanor, but a life full of testosterone had provided Jessica a backbone of steel and feelings not easily hurt. She was tempted to pretend not to recognize this out-of-uniform dynamo. She pondered that avenue of response and then decided to take a different approach…

“That’s Princess Lemann to you, sir, and I was just coming in to find out where my throne is located,” she easily responded, a saccharine smile upon her features. “Cute dinosaur.”
