The giant Orion then asked “And who are you, by the way? Don’t think we’ve met. I’m Mardusk, Security Chief.”

Mardusk, CoS

Jessica giggled as she glanced down at the PaDD. “Oh, I’m familiar with the rules. Clearly, if you think this is a combat sport, you didn’t grow up with five brothers,” she retorted playfully as she tugged on the color of her lavender shirt and tucked the straggling blonde hair behind her ear.

“I’m Dr. Jessica Lemann,” she said, sticking her hand out to shake the Orion’s in the typical human custom. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I only joined the ship a bit ago so I’m not surprised we haven’t crossed paths.”

Ensign Lemann

Mardusk took her hand in one massive green paw and grinned. “Only child. But mom is a soul-crusher from way back, so it probably evens out.” and he chuckled. “Nice to meet ya, Doc. Welcome.”

Mardusk, CoS

Frank walked in moments later after the Doc arrived. Frank had heard about this event from several crewmembers who were gossiping about it in the mess hall. He stepped through the opened doors and snappedto attention. In a dry Scottish tone “Aye Lieutenant Mardusk Ensign Gallagher reporting”

Gallagher

Jessica’s otherwise extraordinarily sunny disposition darkened for a moment at the mention of Mardusk’s mother, but it was fleeting and quickly turned back into a beaming smile. She started to respond with, “and hopefully my services won’t be…” when her fellow ensign walked into the holodeck. “Wow, this is getting to be quite a party,” she grinned, but patiently waited for Mardusk to put the young ensign at ease before introducing herself. ‘His accent is just adorable,’ she thought to herself with an unsuccessfully stifled giggle.

Ensign Lemann

“Steady there Ensign. Mr Bordeaux may wish to make a mockery of you.” River said simply looking to Bordeaux and then Gallagaher. River had been standing watching the interactions wondering if anyone was going to acknowledge her. However she expected them not to. She seemed to be able to do that, blend seamlessly into the background even in a small group.

Lieut Styxx (Marine)

“Well I can’t now that you spoiled the moment, it’s the surprise of my barbs that gets people. You can’t just take away my surprise factor and it feel the same sting of regret and sadness it normally brings.” Ian said, small wink at River. He still wasn’t sure what he thought of the woman but he wasn’t really one for grudges or to dwell on things that happened. They were all here for fun after all.

Since it seemed to be the appropriate time for introductions, she turned to the others nearby and gave a friendly wave. “It’s wonderful to meet you all! I’m so glad that I decided to join in and meet some friendly faces!” she exclaimed, resisting the urge to continue the hugs all around. Her one concession to Starfleet protocol was attempting to limit her friendliness to those of similar position to her.

Ensign Lemann

“Friendly for now. We’ll see how long that lasts especially with this game. However it should still be fun” she said her face as neutral as always “So who is going to be on who’s team?” she asked.

Lieut Styxx (Marine)

“Kelly, or Captain Kelly… can we be informal here?” he asked looking over at her. It was odd to call her Captain in some settings, seeing as most nights she ended up on her back screaming his name out for the neighbors to hear. Still he wanted to try and have some semblance of professionalism. Oh who was Ian kidding he knew deep down he wanted to cause a ruckus. This all reminded him of times in New Orleans growing up on the farm outside of it. Expect for the gators, he felt saddened there was not gators he could find on this gold course.

“I’m happy with anyone!” Jessica exclaimed, rubbing her hands together with glee. “I swear that appearances are deceiving and I can totally hold my own.” She made a show of stretching up to her full 5’2” height with a grin and a wink.

Ensign Lemann

OOC: Just pasting back some stuff that was snipped a little too hard, few things some people hadn’t replied to yet.

Kelly let out a long shrill whistle using only her thumb and index finger between her lips. The sound was loud, high pitched, and if they had been on Earth it would have brought every dog in a ten block area to their location. “We are not here to have fun. We are here to get this little white ball,” she held up the round orb, “into that hole way over there,” she swung her club not caring if it was going to hit anyone during her rant. “Now this game is to blow off steam and relax so get your arses on those mounds and get ready to tee off before I program a pack of rowdy Naucissians to chase you down and keep you occupied while I win this thing,” Kelly threw up her hands. Walking to the tee she dropped her ball and took a few practice swings again.

“Lehman nice to meet you. Styxx stop poking the security bear. Gallagher glad you showed. Ian when have you ever called me Captian,” Kelly addressed the group before looing up at the clock frozen in time at the three-second mark. There was no way she was not going to win this thing. Doing the hip wiggle she called out in a firm voice =/\=Computer continue countdown =/\= she ordered. If the rest of the group was not ready that was their fault and her chance to get ahead.

=/\=Three.....two....onw=/\= the voice counted down to the last number before an air horn blew signaling the start of the game.

Captian Kelly Shultz

“I’d prefer the Naucissians. I don’t have to show certainty with them.” River said as she took her place not entirely sure what the heel she was doing. She lined her shot up and got ready to strike.

A second before the buzzer went off everyone would feel pressure on their wrist and a slight clicking sound as the wrist binders attached each golfer to their partner. The binders did not have a typical chain or cord attached to them. Instead, they were sensor driven so that each golfing partner could not be more than five feet from their partner or an electrical current was released. The system design was based on an archaic taser system and felt like it when activated.

As the buzzer went off Kelly lined up the shot and swung. The ball connected with the club sending the shot towards the flag. Seeing the ball land Kelly took off at a dead sprint not caring where Ian’s shot fell. Her shot was fair and true and clearly the better of the pair. “Ian,” she said as she ran full bore towards the tiny white orb in the grass. “When we stop I chip it in and you start chipping the ball at the rest,” she began to strategize. This was a classic maneuver she and Dante employed often. She chipped the ball onto the green while Dante laid down suppressive fire with a barrage of golf balls towards the rest of the group so that they not only had to run to get to their ball but also avoid being pelted by the oncoming balls.

OCC: Okay so you can be paired with anyone in the scene or make up an NE so that you can write the scene the way you wanted it. So have fun and maybe we take a turn at each hole for one of us to be the aggressor and the others to react to it. ~ Kate

River hit her ball and it went further then she thought it would. She didn’t bother to look who her Partner was, they would catch up. As she headed for her ball two gold balls headed right for her. She smirked moved her golf club in front of her face twirled it and deflected the shorts and kept going. She then saw another and shot it back towards the shooter.

Lieut Styxx (Marine)

“Ugh,” Kelly said seeing Styxx deflect her baseball styled batted golf balls away. The shots were not perfect or they would have hit the young female officer. Still for tossing a ball in the air while you were running and using the back end of a golf club as a makeshift bat Kelly’s aim was not that bad. “That woman has the reflexes of a damn cat. Take her out,” Kelly replied finding the first of her and Ian’s balls lying in the grass. Praying Ian was covering her flank, Kelly eyed the hole, then the ball, and took her best swing. The golf ball lobbed the small white orb into the air plopping on the green and a nice distance from the cup to win.

“Take her out? What am I some sniper… I can’t shoot her right?” Ian asked as he looked at her.

“Not with a phaser but,”

“Okay okay, just clarifying… shooting them bad… there is one rule.”

“No…there is no rules about shooting people but you played baseball right? Pretend you are a pitcher but nail the batter,” she nodded at the golf bag filled with balls. “Sheesh it’s not like your Dodger player in GLB the universe 2395 hasn’t pegged a guy to make the team walk.” Kelly shouldered her cubs and started hauling butt towards the green. “In fact act like a batting cage and lay some suppressive golf ball fire down while I sink the hole,” she yelled over her shoulder.

Captain Kelly Shultz

Frank took his best swing. The ball launched in the air and plummeted onto the ground and rolled onto the outer edge of the green. A rather far distance from the green..

It was at that time that Mardusk, whose shot had gone far wide and into the rough and who was sprinting surprisingly quick for a being of his mass, reached back into his golf bag and pulled out what appeared to some kind of… well… cannon, for lack of a better term. About 30 yards from the green, he stopped and propped the device on his shoulder like some kind of rocket launcher and then eyed down the sight. Pulling the trigger; a series of rapid but somewhat muted sounds like “POP POP POP” rang out and small cylinders of tightly wrapped fabric hit the green in series, knocking the balls present off and scattering them in varying directions. Sheathing his launcher, he ran for his ball and yelled out “Hope the shirts are in yall’s sizes!” and laughed loudly.

Mardusk, CoS

“You’ll find out when i strangle you with it” River called back looking for her ball. it was hard to tell if she was serious or not, but it was river and she was always serious. she found her ball and took her shot landing just in front of the flag. she smirked and walked over to it. treading the CO’s ball into the ground as she did.
