Mardusk looked at the diminutive doctor and gave her a big smile at the comment and a wink. “That’s what all the girls say, Ensign.”

“Just don’t make him angry. No one likes him when he is angry,” Kelly gave Mardusk a wink as they waited for the rest of the crew to arrive. Jessica’s comment wasn’t actually far from the mark. Most security chiefs instilled a sense of security and safety when you were in their presence but the sheer size of Mardusk amplified this feeling like a drug. One often felt a bit more bold and brazen when you knew the Orion had your back. She could handle herself quite well but knowing the Orion could wrap his hands around someone’s shirt and pummel him from side to side without breaking a sweat when you needed him to made Kelly feel ten foot tall and bulletproof.

Captain Kelly Shultz

“Up until the point you beat him in a game of holochess and he pulls your arms out of your sockets,” Nash said as he entered right behind Mardusk and looked up at him, the stub of an unlit cigar sticking out of the corner of his mouth. “Orions have been known to do that, haven’t they?” He asked, his face completely straight but both Kelly and Mardusk knew him well enough to know he only heckled people he hated or liked. Both of them also knew him well enough to know that because they knew him well enough, he liked them.

His eyes moved to the rest of the room, acknowledging Bordeaux and the new CSO, then falling on, Jessica, and pausing. “Je…Doctor Lemann, it’s good to see you again.” He said and smiled just for an instant as he adjusted his tunic slightly as he moved to stand beside her in particular, then made himself busy checking his phaser and tricorder.

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

Jessica had been pondering an adequate retort to Mardusk’s response when the door slid open to reveal Nash. Her green eyes sparkled as she admired him in his uniform, her cheeks flushing the slightest of pink as his gleaming rank pips caught her eye, and then her gaze finally rested on the cigar in the corner of his mouth. Her eyebrows crinkled down as a frown took over her features and she pointedly brushed against him as he checked his equipment and murmured, “I told you those things can kill you.”

River arrived next. Her uniform was immaculate as always, the crease in her trouser followed their red lining, her boots shinned as brightly as her bras and the green trim of her torso had no blemish “So can many other things. A phaser, an airlock, even this ship.” she said as she approached the group. “But she’s right those things are the worst” she added standing next to Lemann.

“Captain, Mr Bordeaux, Lieutenant commander, Ensign, Lieutenant” she said nodding her head to each of the officers in greeting.

Lieut Styxx (Marine)

Mardusk looked at Lemann and then to Nash and simply shook his big, bald, green head slightly. Hearing Styxx, he looked at the always brooding Marine and said “I hope you polished your stick as well, Lieutenant. We don’t know how thorough their customs search will be and we want to make a good first impression, right?” innocuously, waiting for someone to ask.

Mardusk, CoS

“Ha ha” River said sarcastically almost venomously “I’d be more concerned if whether or not your ego can fit through customs. Don’t want to over stress the structure of the station.”£ she added.

Lieut Styxx (Marine)

Jessica noticed Mardusk’s look and met his eyes with an innocent, sweet smile… too innocent and too sweet. She turned to greet the Marine she had met during a golf session, “It’s nice to see you again, Lieutenant…” her voice trailed off, and then she made eye contact with Nash. With her eyes dancing mischievously, she commented, “hello again, Commander.”

OOC: The Base indicated that this had to be a shuttle docking as they Atlantis wasn’t known to the region and didn’t have the trust level necessary for the star ship to connect. You can go in one shuttle or several. You can clear that up in the next several posts. What generally happens is the same.

As the shuttle docked, the crew had to walk through two separate tubes, each seemed capable of being detached at any time and each having it’s own independent power system for life support. Each tube detected power sources, hard straight items of longer than 4 inches of any material like metal, plastic, or polymer.

When they reached the final door of the final tube several officers in blue and gold stood with scanning devices. “Welcome to Base Five, we take no legal responsibility for person or property and you are obligated to abide by the rules of the Base or be faced with punishment. Please register all powered items and weapons. Murder, Assault, Kidnapping and Theft, are all crimes here among several others… for a full list please refer to the pamphlet on the wall.” They gestured to a handout holder.. like a spinning gift card display rack you’d find in a store.

The men and women in blue and gold all carried sidearms, small weapons no larger than a .38 pistol, but how powerful they were was unknown. There was the occasional security officer in the back away from the docking port with an ‘assault’ weapon eyeing the away teams cautiously.

OOC: Please register weapons accordingly.
