OOC: The Base indicated that this had to be a shuttle docking as they Atlantis wasn’t known to the region and didn’t have the trust level necessary for the star ship to connect. You can go in one shuttle or several. You can clear that up in the next several posts. What generally happens is the same.

Arrival at the alien space station

As the shuttle docked, the crew had to walk through two separate tubes, each seemed capable of being detached at any time and each having it’s own independent power system for life support. Each tube detected power sources, hard straight items of longer than 4 inches of any material like metal, plastic, or polymer.

When they reached the final door of the final tube several officers in blue and gold stood with scanning devices.

“About time,” she said finally seeing officers at the end of the tunnels. She assumed this meant they would finally get access to the station. “This place is like a funhouse ran by space carny’s,” Kelly muttered under her breath but loud enough for the few closest to her to hear. “I mean at any time I thought those tubes were going to detach and we were going to have relived Death Tunnel,” Kelly said referring to the newest holomovie about people having to cross a span and almost dying in the process.

“Hello. I am Captin Kelly Shultz and I am here with my crew to procure supplies for my ship,” she announced to the woman with a scanning device.

“Welcome to Base Five, we take no legal responsibility for person or property and you are obligated to abide by the rules of the Base or be faced with punishment. Please register all powered items and weapons. Murder, Assault, Kidnapping and Theft, are all crimes here among several others… for a full list please refer to the pamphlet on the wall.” They gestured to a handout holder.. like a spinning gift card display rack you’d find in a store.

The men and women in blue and gold all carried sidearms, small weapons no larger than a .38 pistol, but how powerful they were was unknown. There was the occasional security officer in the back, away from the docking port with an ‘assault’ weapon eyeing the away teams cautiously.

OOC: Please register weapons accordingly.

“As they should be,” Kelly said with a semi-shocked look on her face. What kind of place needed to state that kind of rules. “Mardusk,” Kelly motioned her security chief forward. She had no doubts that 90% of her away team was packing and needed Mardusk to figure out what they were leaving at the gate.

Captain Kelly Shultz

“You’d be surprised, what some cultures believe are justifiable rules for any infraction.” As she waved a scanning device at them. “One person thought a ‘dirty look’ was grounds for ritual combat to the death.” She looked over at Mardusk, being seven feet tall, “We don’t do that here.”

River walked past the others “Might as well start with me. Lieutenant River Styxx Marine” she said just in case the host wanted to log her name and rank for future reference. she took off her side arm and showed it to the others. she then lent down and pulled a knife form her boot and finally took out three throwing knives form her chest pocket. “How do we register these items?” she asked.

Lieut Styxx (Marine)

The security officer looked at each item and seemed to just take a picture of each with her scanning device. “Each weapon and power signature is recorded in our data base for comparison to crimes committed at any time.” She paused for a moment. “You can take them back now, please be aware that brandishing these weapons in a threatening manner can be construed as a crime.”

Mardusk snickered. “Aw, how cute.”

“Aw thank you. My good looks are all natural” River said in a sickly sweet tone.

M’Lene joined the rest of the away team a few paces behind and stretched as she stifled a quick yawn, shuttle rides always made her sleepy, mind you most things made her sleepy. She pulled her standard issue phaser out and patiently waited in line to register it.

The big Orion took a phaser from his hip and set it down for ‘registration’.

“It is so registered, Name, Rank, Race or Government Affiliation?”

OOC: Unless you do something odd we can run this thread concurrently with each team doing their sub mission. Please be aware that each person has their own objectives and what they may tell you might be from their perspective or an outright lie design to curry them favor.

Ryley watched the proceedings and lifted the cane an inch or so off the ground to show the security officer it. “Does this count as a weapon that needs registered?” He asked.

“No edges, no points, I don’t think you’d go to jail for not registering it, but I’ll record it just in case.” The security officer took a picture of the item and nodded the doctor past the station.

After dealing with this issue he limped off to look at the rules the woman had indicated. This was very different from the last alien space station he had been on which was literally the polar opposite of the lawless Tortuga. The greying older man scratched his beard as he read the rules.

The list was a fairly lengthy list of criminal activity. Nothing appeared that the doctor wouldn’t recognize, with the description, what wasn’t listed was a bill of rights. So a person boarding would know basically what the couldn’t do, but they didn’t really know what privileges they possessed.

River followed the Ryley over to the rules. she wanted to double check them herself. “Well at least we’ve learnt one thing s far. they have a great deal of door and have set rules. It’s a nice change to some places. But then again i know all to well how quickly even the most orderly places can fall to disarray .” she said as she read the rules.

After the phaser was registered, Mardusk said “But wait. There’s more. Sorry, Didn’t know what the weather would be like, so I packed heavy.” and he then set another phaser and a wicked-looking curved bladed knife in a sheath on the desk as well.
