RE: Promotions

Good afternoon Penny,
I am looking to see when the final paperwork will go through authorizing the increase in rank for Gravel Mardusk and Ashlynn Summers. I have not seen it come through yet on my end.

Have a good day,
Captain Kelly Shultz**

=/\=Name not recognized=/\= a high pitched and an artificial sounding voice rang through Kelly office. It elicited a loud grumble from the captain who promptly rubbed her forehead in aggravation.

“Have a good day, Captain Bordeaux,” Kelly spoke the words she had to fix. Hitting enter again the message went through without a glitch. Men never understood what a pain in the butt changing your name could be in real life. Yes, there was something magical and romantic to changing your name after marriage. It told the world you now belonged to someone else. That, someone, loved you enough to want to give you their name and claim for anyone wondering how much they held you above all others. Kelly was old fashioned and had no problems changing her name. What she did have a problem with was remembering her new name. Ian could sign her name like a forgerer of 20 years but recently he had stopped. Why? Because every paper that came across his desk to send out read with her maiden name.

“Ian,” Kelly said sweetly looking at Ian on her couch. “Baby was the automated message really really necessary,” she tried not to grit her teeth. This was the third time today the perky little AI voice had prevented her from doing her work.

“Oh it was totally necessary, I thought about seeing if Jacen could implant you with a dermal chip that shocked you every time you got it wrong but no… he said it’s against protocols. I looked, there is no protocols that specifically say I can’t do it… he just won’t cause of the implication of chipping your boss, but I’m chipping my wife which is far more in the gray area…” Ian said as he looked over at her with a squint in his eyes.

“Ya’ think,” Kelly let out a half laugh and then paused before she was ready to take a sip of her coffee. It was then she processed Ian’s statement fully.

“I mean… of course it’s not how dare Jacen the humanity.” he added with a sense of mock indignation at it all.

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

“You two seriously had a conversation about electro-shock therapy? Maybe I should find you a new friend,” she gave him a haf grin and went back to writing more messages.

“You should hear his idea of a mobile captains chair.” Ian said with a smirk as he got off the couch as he came over to her desk as he leaned in to kiss her cheek before taking her coffee from her.

“You know it’s just one word… just one you have to learn, you learn knew words every day you can learn this.” he said as he made his way to the replicator, he in some ways enjoyed these lazy days with her. They were working but not quite how people would expect.

RE: Forwarded Congratulations

Hello Admiral Perkins,

While I am exuberant to hear your grandson, Harry Johnson, has graduated the Academy I am shocked you think I am the one that was involved with a goat being placed in your vehicle during the commencement ceremony. If you would like my help apprehending the individuals who committed this heinous act of vandalism I can offer Lt. Commander Nash to use the intelligence resources Starfleet has so graciously added to his current workload with no extra pay or rank. He just loves to serve and would have no issues devoting what little free time he does have to help you.

As to finding a replacement for the vintage leather seats said goat was rumored to have eaten during his confinement on your shuttle I may know and Ensign with a few connections in the areas of supplies and procurement to aid in your restoration of the vehicle. Her list of resources is extensive. Please let me know what I can do for you in this endeavor.

Sincerely,**

Kelly chuckled to herself with an evil grin as she penned the message to Perkins. One day when the man retired life would become more boring but today was not that day. Signing off on the message, Kelly typed almost spritely. “Captian Kelly Shultz. Noooooo,” she practically yelled as her body reacted before her mind entering the submit button.

“Ian,” Kelly snapped looking at her husband. She threw up her hands in frustration and made a few jabbing motions at the screen. “You see! You see how this is slowing me down. Can’t you just program the computer to auto-correct Shultz to Bordeaux anytime it sees it in print!”

Ian placed the coffee down on the table as he couldn’t help but feel a sly smirk cross over his face. “Or… you remember /one/ word. Just one.” he said as he grabbed a PaDD off her desk, he too had some busy but liked being able to do it next to her. He grabbed the chair near the desk and angled it so he could see her as he sat down propping his feet up over her desk.

“Repeat after me, Bordeaux… Bordeaux… come on you’ll get it buttercup.” he said with his mocking tone as he he glanced down at the PaDD.

RE: Welcome Aboard

Hello Lt. Vladar,

I received your transfer orders to the Atlantis. Welcome Aboard. At your earliest convenience please come to my office so that we can officially meet.

“Ian,” Kelly snapped. “That’s it. I need this voice from beyond removed,” she growled. The seeping hostile tone was in no way directed to Ian but the fact it was starting to make her crazy.

“Nope.” was all Ian said as he looked down from his PaDD, shaking his head silently as he went back to reading, barley giving her any attention as she flailed about.

“Kelly Bordeaux. Kelly Bordeaux, Kelly Bordeaux,” she said rhythmically over three times. “See it is not like I don’t know my last name. It will just take a few more messages and I will have it down,” Kelly promised. “Remove the AI,” she said leveling a gaze at him.

“That’s the spirit, and no.” he answered, this time not even looking past the PaDD.

Kelly opened up a message window to her CMO. It was a running standoff between her and Riley about official workwear since the day she had arrived on the ship. Like two cowboys at the stroke of twelve every once in a while they faced off to see it a treaty could be reached. The CMO was one heck of a doctor and Kelly respected the heck out of the man, except for his refusal to dress according to regulations. Every once in awhile, just for the record, she would send him a message reminding him of the rules.

RE: Uniforms

Riley,

Can we compromise on the uniforms and only have casual Fridays? Last week a new transfer came over and I heard in the mess hall someone tell them if you are looking for the CMO he is the one with the cane. We really need more of a designation after all your years of service. So wear the uniform…except on Fridays.

Sincerely,**

Captain Kelly Shultz

Kelly didn’t even look at Ian. She didn’t have to. Her husband was either wearing that smirk or giving her a playful stare. “Don’t you have your own office to read those reports in,” she asked starting her next message. She loved him in her office. As senior officers, they were busy a lot but today she would be fine not seeing him for a few hours until she got these reports done.

“I maybe Chief Diplomat but I am also officially your Yeoman still, which means this /IS/ my office too. I knew you would appreciate me picking this place over my own to do my work.” he said as he put the PaDD down and leaned over to pat her arm in a reassuring fashion as if she had lost a loved one or dear pet.

RE: Staff meeting about excessive weapons on away mission

Mardusk,

Can we schedule a meeting early next week about what is carried as weapons on away missions. Our recent away mission had me wondering if anything is left in the armory when we depart the ship. Find a day at your earliest convenience and arrange for you and the others to meet me in the ready room

Sincerely,**

Captain Kelly Shultz

Kelly face planted the desk not caring if Ian heard the thunk. Maybe if she physically beat her head a few times she would focus on using her last name the way it was supposed to be written.

“Baby I am starving. Wanna go get us some lunch and I can get the rest of this done without you silently judging me and proving you are right,” she added the last bit in her mind. To be honest, Kelly had no idea why this was so hard. She wanted to be Kelly Bordeaux. Heck, she and Ian were looking at buying a small house in Texas just to have a place to call home that wasn’t a floating tin can. If she had any reservations about their future she would have dismissed the idea the second it was brought up So why was she not able to defeat the muscle memory of her last name every time she signed off on a message.

As if on cue the door rang as Ian looked back. “Yes I am famished… Enter.” he said loudly as the doors swished and two young crewmen came in with rolling trays that had the smell of food wafting in. “I am always one step ahead pumpkin.” he said with a wink as he got up to thank the two before they went about their way. “Now… lets get back to the name… Bordeaux… say it with a flair to you love.” he said as he removed the tops of the platters as steam escaped as he picked up the two plates, twirling like a french waiter trying to impress his guests as he made his way to her desk, placing down in front of her a thick juicy bacon cheeseburger with garlic pepper fries.

“What would you do with out me puppy?” he said playfully as he took his seat placing the second plate down that held an identical meal in front. Sitting down he breathed in as if the aroma might get him high as he closed his eyes. “Chef Ramsey is amazing, we should c omission him make him an officer or something… he deserves it.” he said as he picked up the burger as he began to bite down into it, juices flowing down his lips as he did so.

RE: Brown alert

Dante,

The goat ate the seats.

“You know, you could just write the name on a sticky note and put it at the top of the monitor. Like back in academy when trying to remember the dilithim matrix ratio.” he said as he pushed back his plate feeling full from the meal as he glanced over at her. “I mean it’s worth a shot… or we could circle back to the electro shock therapy.”
