Hello, my intrepid crew! I am posting this to explain the shipwide side sim I am going to try. It is open to everyone but to make it easier to partake in I created some rules for us to try. First off it is based off the game of CLue. If you don’t know it google it. Now that everyone has the idea of what it will be and if they want to join it, I thought it might be fun to play another character as another character. Below are the names of the characters. We can use the list as a sign-up. Just pick someone and add their name. There will be a few examples of how to do this that should make it clear..
Second I have found that multi-player side sims can feel daunting. I am not saying I invented this but I have used this system in a few other places and it seems to work well. So the first rule is all the thread titles have to start with Clue: (person) and topic (examples would be Clue: Kelly and Rinker check out the kitchen. or Clue: Ian and Nash check out the dining room. This will let people move from place to place in a sense. Again another example..
Clue: Kelly and Rinker check out the kitchen.
Kelly looked at Rinker and laughed. “I was never a good cook.”
Rinker laughed, “yes I ate your eggs.”
Memphis rolled his eyes. “I am going to find the others. Keep looking for clues”.
**So Memphis can leave this thread and join someone else’s if they think it is more fun or if their character can add to that scene better.****.
Clue: Ian and Nash check out the dining room.
“Bulleye,” Nash said tossing a steak knife across the room.
“Just watch the master,” Ian said tossing his across the room in an impromptu game of steak knife darts.
Memphis stood at the door and shook his head. These two knuckleheads could have the dining room. He walked off to find another group..
**So from here Memphis can join another side sim or create his own. If you think of it like a barbecue or party, you can and may have people joining your side sim and asking “what are you two doing?” Just reply as your character would or since you would have read the scene you are entering you can even say something like Memphis walked in and saw NE One dead and NE struggling for his life so he picked up the candlestick.**.
The purpose of trying to post like this is so that people can tell their stories in a larger one where we are all posting. It is not perfect but this is an experiment so try to place nice with each other. It will also allow for people to enter and leave side sims without too much fuss..
Here are the list of characters your character and those they want to come as: (If you want to change the person’s gender from male to female that is okay also. Just adjust the name appropriately such as Mr. Brock White the intrusive and kindly butler) If there are no more players and you want to join make something theme related up..
Mrs. Blanche White the intrusive and kindly maid of the game = name
Mrs. Elizabeth Peacock the sinister and political senator of the game = name
Professor Peter Plum the uptight and intelligent professor of the game = name
Madame Rhoda Rose the mysterious and eccentric clairvoyant of the game = name
Lady Lu Sian Lavender the spoiled and exotic herbalist of the game = name
Mrs. Jane Meadow-Brooke the cheerful and nosy town gossip of the game = name.
