Ashlynn was in Sickbay as she felt weapons fire and she touched her comm badge =^= Bridge do we have wounded?=^= She asked as the ship went to yellow alert “Get things in motion for incoming wounded.” She told her staff as she began moving around sickbay moving trays next to beds and making sure that each was appropriately stocked.

With the lack of response from the Bridge and the lack of a red alert, Ashlynn had her team stand down and returned to her office. Ali was due to join her for a snack before she started her home work. With her promotion, Ashlynn had less time to spend with her daughter, but they were learning to carve out time. Within a few minutes, Ali was at the door “Mom, can we have ice cream?” She asked sitting down in a chair across from Ashlynn. Ashlynn nodded “We can. What flavor do you want?” She asked going over to the replicator and they continued to discuss their day and how things where going.

Ali shared her day at school and explained about the history project she had to do by the following Friday. She was thinking about doing a diorama of the Alamo. That was the unit that they were studying. Ali looked at her mother “Can we do that?” She asked as she took a bite of her ice cream “I can print out diagrams and replicate some wood and make it look real.” She said

Ashlynn nodded “I think we can make that work.” She said “We can start working on it tonight when I get home from work.” Ashlynn added “What other homework do you have?”

Ali looked at the data padd she had “I have some maths and reading.” She said “I have to write a book report on the book “This Star Shall Abide”. Ali said “I still have to read it, but the report isn’t due until Monday. So I can do it this weekend.” She said taking another bite of her treat. Ashlynn nodded “Okay. I want to read it before you turn it in.” She said and Ali nodded “I know Mom.” The duo finished their snack and Ali headed back to their quarters and Ashlynn went back to work.

Ashlynn watched Ali walk out of Sickbay with her bag on her shoulder. Ash sighed, she knew it was hard for her daughter to be here, she was happy that Ali had made a friend, even though she had gotten into some trouble with Marabelle. She hoped that Ali understood what could happen if she continued getting into trouble. Ashlynn made her rounds and was already planning dinner when she got off duty.

Ashlynn sat down at the computer and began updating charts and seeing what still needed to be ordered for their next supply run. They were fairly well stocked…fortunately they had not had many violent encounters that required the use of supplies in Sickbay. Ashlynn finished up her requests and sent them to the First Officer for filing before going back to work on some reports that she still needed to get done.

The ship stocks of medicine was surprisingly whole. The graviton ellipse’s effect on storage was limited, what was more critical was the damaged systems. There was significant damage to the stasis chambers, Ashlynn didn’t trust them to function reliably. Other high tech systems, like the bio-forcefields and the auto-surgery functions. At this moment, the patients would be most safe if she did any necessary operations by hand.

Ashlynn touched her comm badge =^=Sickbay to main engineering. I need to get an engineer up here. We’re having some mechanical issues with our equipment.=^= She said as she began to reset the stasis units to see if that would fix the issues.

CMO

After several attempted cycles the system responded in a manner that did not engender confidence. None of the units were operational, with a couple of them flickering ‘green’ for a few minutes before an error code ‘red’ appeared.

GM

Ashlynn sighed “Well, this isn’t a good way to start things.” She touched her comm badge again =^=Main Engineering, my attempts to reboot the stasis units failed. Are we having any other issues?=^= She asked
