A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..... (cue up entry music if you wish…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D0ZQPqeJkk) there was a young Wookie and that wookie has spent years on the planet Kashyyyk charming his village and those on the planet with fascinating stories of adventure, intrigue, drama, and fantasy. Wookies came from far and near to listen as the Wookie in question weaved his tales for all to experience. It was not long before his literary reputation spread to the cantinas on Mos Eisley, Outpost 42, and to the very steps of Federation HQ.
A counselor ship on a purely diplomatic mission was sent to begin negotiations with the young Wookie. After many hours sitting around the diplomatic table discussing such important topics as Would there be Wroshyr trees in the arboretum, explaining to Drayke he needed to program 150 ways to say wood into the communicators, and that we could not allow the Kashyyyk clarion to replace klaxons or communication in general because it only traveled the equivalent of 12 desks an agreement was reached.
Rushing home again on her flagship, dodging the evil emissaries of Darth Perkins (not to be confused with Darth Tadpole. Darth Tadpole is really a rebel agent but I digress.) the ambassador arrived with the following news.......
All jokes aside I am pleased and so happy to announce that Gene Gibbs has accepted the position of executive officer for the USS Atlantis. Gene doesn’t need any preamble about his skills or talents in the club; however, I want to say I thrilled to be able to work with him. Gene is finishing up some commitments before officially joining the ship however look for him soon to be posting up a storm. Let’s all give him a warm Atlantean welcome.
