USS Momentum, NX-05, Lost with all hands in the early foundation of the Federation, was based on a Refit of the NX-01 Class Enterprise. Believed lost near the Klingon border, well over 200 light years from this position. Was Captained by Captain Juv Horin, and First Mate was Commander Juniper Kiver. Last known mission recording involved an Anomaly at the edge of their sensor range that was going to take them 5 days off projected course. Nothing further exists in the records beyond that((OOC: Unless you want mundane details such as Crew Size, Highest Warp, Etc, those are provided but not currently needed for the continuation))

It was not immediately noticeable, but the NE at the Science Station stood a bit straighter as the Sensors cycled through a Diagnostic. Then he relaxed as the diagnostic was marked as requested from Stellar Cartography not random. Then he noticed.

“Captain, Commander, the probe has changed course, and is now on a direct intercept course and gaining speed.” The slightly bothered NE stated.

=/\= Lieutenant Wells to the Bridge. I’m getting some very strange sensor readings down here in Stellar Cartography. I’ve got what appears to be a system disappearing and I’m not really sure what to make of it. =/\= The newly appointed CSO sounded a bit tired and confused.

-Lt. Tyler Michael Wells, CSO

“Ship to yellow alert,” Kelly ordered. “Comm’s send a hail to the ship and brocast a welcome in all known Federation languages. Science scan the area for any temporal or spatial anomolies,” she ordered.

Captain Kelly Shultz

Shop wide the yellow alert indicators went active. “Aye Captain, there is no response to our hails.”

The probe began drawing closer to the Atlantis its intercept trajectory becoming more readily apparent.

GM

“Mr. Nash, does the probe appear to have any weapons capabilities,” Kelly asked. Since the probe was not transmitted the standard distress call and seemed to be homing into their position, Kelly felt on edge.

OCC: Please remember to cross post.

“Speak of the devil,” Kelly said hearing Well’s voice come over the comm. “Well then you have your work cut out for you Mr. Wells. Systems do not just disappear and reappear like a magic show. Have you scanned for temporal anomalies,” Kelly asked her CSO.

Captain Kelly Shultz

OOC: if you look up three posts ago on this thread you will see I already cross posted my com from stellar cartography

OCC: Sorry James. Hazard of posting on the run. Work started this week. I took out the cross post I added. ~Kate

Relann moved back over to Kelly. “Seems that the Momentum was an old NX class refit lost with all hands shortly after the start of the Federation. There’s not a lot of details, but they were supposedly lost about 200lightyears from here on the Klingon border after investigating… get this, a spatial anomaly that pulled them 5 days off their course.” She looked to the screen. and then back at Kelly. “I don’t know about you, but I’m not keen to repeat their disappearing act.”

Fell-Drayke, XO

“Come on Relann where’s your spirit of adventure. Could be the next Risa,” Kelly said with little enthusiasm. Everyone was feeling the tension of the moment. Humor tended to relieve some of it. Not for Kelly or her XO but maybe if the crew saw thier light banter it would keep tension down until they got into some real problems. For all Kelly knew the probe was just a happy hello. Doubtful but Schultz was the glass kinda full girl at heart.

Rinker heard and saw the ship go to yellow alert, and while he normally didn’t respond to any alert by coming to the bridge unless specifically summoned it had been pretty quiet on the Atlantis so he broke out of his norm for a change. “All hands on deck?” He questioned… “Prepare to repel boarders, Keptain.”

Rinker CNS

“Yeah go get Peg leg Pete and they rest of your swarthy band of crew. Just throw some Freud at him as a diviersion until security gets there,” Kelly gave Rinker a half grin. She really liked the counselor’s easy going manner. It served him and her crew well.

At his station Nash adjusted a few of his controls. “Scanning the probe Captain, let’s see what she is” then at the same time, made sure the shields were stable and kept track of the probes approach for targetting. “Phasers and torpedoes ready Captain.”

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

“Let’s not be the bully’s of the parsec until we have to Mr. Nash,” Kelly said. She was glad however her crew was so experienced and knew their jobs. She had always commanded with a marcomanager style and this seemed to fit perfectly well with this crew. They knew their jobs and until they didn’t Kelly would let them do their jobs.

The scans came back. Was it actually a probe, it definitely was not federation anymore. It was skinned in pure gold and covered in some style of glyphs. if it came from where the anaomalies were detected then it was insanely fast. Perhaps warp capable. Either way it was broadcasting the distress signal in question. There was also the ghost of perhaps a lifesign aboard.
