Runa had dragged her out to the lounge again. They were going to celebrate another holiday today. What would be the first day of fall. And Revna would rather be in the holodeck, but there were no open times. It just didn’t feel like autumn on board a ship. Either way, here they were, again. This time they at least weren’t wearing the same thing. Revna had manged, to Runa’s disappointment, to convince Runa it was ridiculous and childish to do so again. This time Revna had ordered from the kitchen before they left her quarters. Chopped steak with bacon and mushroom gravy served with a big plate of boiled parslied potatoes, traditional danish rye bread with sourdough served with Lignonberry jam, and then a Danish kringle for desert.

But she had a surprise for her twin. After they got a seat she walked over to the bar. “Three glasses of Laird’s Straight Apple Brandy. We have someone joining us, Harry. Do me a favor and don’t bring it till he arrives.” Then out of ear shot of Runa, Revna tapped her commbadge, =^=Edman to Odinson. Would you care to join us in the lounge? Runa has it in her head we need to celebrate the first day of autumn today.=^=

=^=I would love to, but do me a favor and don’t mention that I’m coming. I owe her a little payback from all those years ago. Hopefully, it’s been long enough that she won’t recognize me.=^=

=^=I wouldn’t dream of warning her. I’ll even make sure her back is to the door.=^= Revna turned off her combadge, grabbed two waters from Harry and made her way over to the table. It was their custom to always sit so they could see out the windows, and so Revna was easily able to make Runa take the seat putting her back to the door. They sat and sipped the water while they “waited” for the food. Revna used the calm and silence to school her expression.

A short while later, D’vash slid into the lounge unobtrusively. He spotted the sisters and moved around the room so that he could approach Runa from behind without her noticing him.

He approached and stood about from her and began. “Ms. Runa Edman, I am the Atlantis’s Chief Intelligence Officer. I need you to come with me. It seems there is an issue with your teaching credentials. The Federation Department of Public Instruction and Federation Security has informed us that your credentials have been falsified and that you are not legally certified to teach”

Revna’s eyes got wide as D’vash continued to bark out the ‘crimes’ Runa was accused of. She watched her sister carefully to see what she would do.

Before Runa could turn around and respond, he gave Revna a quick week indicating for her to play along. “I am to escort you to your quarters to gather your things, hen escort you to the shuttle bay where a Federation Security runabout will arrive within the hour to take you back to Earth to get to the bottom of this crime. Please come with me.”

Runa’s eyes widened. She glanced at Revna to see if this was some kind of joke and seeing no hint of laughter from her sister, she wasn’t sure what to make of this accusation. “Of course I have my credentials! They were sent to Cpt. Bordeaux for approval before I came on board.” Then the full extent of what this ‘Intelligence’ officer was implying hit her. “Security transport?” He’d said she had to collect her things? They were kicking her off the ship? As a prisoner? She stood up, that quick hot temper she’d has a child flaring. This…this idiot was accusing her of fraud AND taking her away from her sister.

Revna couldn’t respond to D’vash’s wink but she understood. “Runa? What is he talking about?” She looked up at the chief intelligence officer, and playing along, “Cmdr, there must be a mistake,” and turning back to Runa, speaking softly, “Runa you better go with him. Come on.”

Runa’s temper didn’t flare long these days though, she’d learned to curb it into something more useful, most of the time. She nodded to Revna. It wouldn’t do to create a scene with the officer. She finally looked right at him, a heavy retort about him being in the wrong department if he couldn’t use his intelligence to make a few simple contacts to figure this out. But she stopped because the man was intimidating and something about him made her pause, but she wasn’t sure what.
