Evrilla examined Tatyl, trying to determine if she was presentable. Her daughter’s short bob was neat, and her outfit was a miniature version of Evrilla’s own, reminiscent of Starfleet uniforms, in the same blue of medical, but both of them were clearly civilians. She nodded, straightened her own jacket, and pressed the chime on the counselor’s office.

“Please come in.” Upon entering the office it was very subdued. The harsh grays and blues that came standard were replaced by earth tones of browns, bronzes, greens, yellows, oranges, and deep reds. There were several areas to sit, couches, chairs, floor pillows. There didn’t appear to be a desk anywhere. The shelves were filled with pieces of art and memorabilia that honored her heritage. The pictures were a mix of landscapes and abstracts, carefully placed around the room so as not to clash with each other. The shelves also included an array of different objects, from singing bowls, to art supplies, to mandalas. There was also a computer interface to allow patients to choose the background noise of their choice.

“Please have a seat Lt. I’m Lt. Revna Edman. “
Lt Edman, Counselor

Evrilla nodded politely and sat down in one of the chairs. Tatyl plopped down on the floor next to her, leaning her head against her mother’s leg. “I am Evrilla, Civilian Medical Consultant. This is my daughter, Tatyl.”

“Hello Tatyl. If you’d like I bet there is something on those shelves or in the cabinets you might like to look at or play with. You’re welcome to investigate if you like.” The shelving unit contained a wide variety of materials to help in medication and reflection, but a few child appropriate items as well. If needs be Revna would move their talk down the hall to the pediatric office to give Tatyl more to do. “It’s nice to meet Evrilla. Would you or Tatyl like something to drink?”

Tatyl looked at Revna and shook her head. “No thank you. I’ll stay here.” Evrilla smiled slightly and rested a hand on her daughter’s shoulder. “We’re alright, thank you.”

Retrieving any requests Revna returned and sat down. “Tell me what brings you out to Atlantis?” Atlantis was big enough to called a starbase with warp drive. There was something on board for everyone.
Lt Edman, Counselor

Evrilla’s mouth tightened slightly. “We needed to leave, and Starfleet needed specialists willing to go far from their homes.”
-Dr. Evrilla & Tatyl
