Three of Five grabbed a bag and put all the tools he would need to diagnose the terminals listed on his pad that he was assigned to repair. He headed to the first terminal on his list and started scanning and running diagnostics on the terminal.
Three of Five, engineer.

OOC: Good initiative! Maybe engage the bridge on that and let us know what priority you’re looking at things to start from the damage list? We may be able to do a bit of a split timeline on that too. .. Gene

The first set of terminals had damage to hardware from both concussive force, breaking and making parts shift as well as electric based overload damage. The work had a high ratio of time expended to amount repaired.

GM

=^= “Three of Five to the bridge, I’m starting my assignment of fixing the terminal burnouts throughout the ship. Hoping that I can start with the ones that need the most work, and then fix the small issues one.”=^= He started shutting down all power to the terminal to start, as he didn’t want to get electrocuted working on the terminals. Then he got to work removing and replacing the broken and burned out components. After a few hours, when he was done, he restored the power, and turned the terminal back on.

At times like this Jen wouldn’t have minded some of that Borg self repairing dynamics happening, though yes, the dangers would be greater than the benefits. =^= Good work Ensign. Keep me updated on the progress of the engineering staff conducting repairs with your chief off on the … diplomatic mission. Where are we at now? =^=
- Jen, XO

=^= “This is my first repaired terminal. I still got a lot more to fix, Ma’am. I’ll keep you posted when I get to the next terminal.” =^= the borg ensign responded in the comm and then headed to the next terminal. When he arrived, he hit the comms. =^=”Three of Five to Bridge, Ma’am, I am at the next terminal, diagnosing it’s problems now.”=^=
Three of Five, Engineer

There was a pause as though there as a fair bit of thinking happening. =^= Ensign, carry on. How many engineers per shift do you have on repair duty right now? =^=
Jen, XO
OOC: I know that will be a harder one to answer. GM .. can you speak into this on how many staff plus any auxiliaries such as from science or security as might be able to assist. I can make an approximation but don’t want to assume too much :) .. Gene

OOC: thanks, cause I had no idea how to answer that one without reaching out to our Chief Engineer.
Rusty

In a way that’s a GM question, but its more based on how the CE decides to utilize the resources. There’s 900 crew, a bunch are somewhat injured… 15-20 percent are probably engineers another 10 percent probably will be competent to steal. So the CE has about 250 people to deploy in shifts of 8 - 12 hours to fix what they can.

GM

OOC: Let’s work it out to three shifts, 80 people each, estimate maybe 500 hours a shift, 1500 a day. .. Thanks Luke .. Gene

=^=”I believe that Commander Drayke has 3 shifts of 80 people working right now.=^= He responded to the XO.
Three of Five engineer

OOC: bump to bring me out of AWOL
Rusty

Jen came back shortly. =^= Very good. That will get us somewhere. Have you personally had a look at the burned out conduit? I’d like you and a team to look a that and give me an assessment in your opinion of what we can do to prepare for repairs and how much conduit we will need to install. =^=
Jen, XO
OOC: Here is the damage report on that from the GM:
Central Power Conduit:
Decks 5-9 burn out – Damage 38% Effectiveness 70% - Projected time of repair 900 person/hours. Materials required, star-base preferred

OOC: I’m going to post before going awol again, I’ll talk offline with the CE to see who I can borrow for this or if I have to create NE names… lol :-)
Rusty

IC: =^=”Copy we will let you know when I get to the next terminal. Ensign Three of Five out.=^=
Three of Five, engineer.

OOC: sorry, I got busy at work that day, and forgot to get with the CE after that. It’s been a busy couple days offline for me…
Rusty

OOC: ok, getting back into this now that my personal life is a little more sorted out. I apologize for that. It has been hectic in my personal life. Anyway, 80 officers, 3 shifts, that’s 26 officers for one shift. 500 hours amongst 80 officers is 6.25 hours. (I’m going to round down to an even 6 to make it easier on myself.)

Mr. GM, for the materials needed part, does that mean we have the materials and just need to install them (like it needs a new battery pack, so we just gotta replace the battery pack) , or we need to aquire the materials outside the ship (we need to buy, trade or salvage)?

IC:
=^= “Comm. th’Jir, I have arrived at the conduit. Based on my initial findings of the conduit, I have 5 other officers with me, we will work in teams of 6, for three 6 hour shifts to repair this, if we need something that we don’t have on the ship, I will let you and the CE know.” Three of Five said into the comm badge and then got to work fixing the conduit.
Three of Five, engineer
